More Fighting On The Way!!!
http://news.yahoo.com/senate-passes-payroll-tax-cut-spending-bill-023931120.html
"House leaders announced they have scheduled votes on the Senate-passed bill for Monday night. But as has been the case throughout 2011, Congress was now girding for yet another fight over major legislation - even as lawmakers were clamoring to quit for the year and start a long winter break."
"Another House Republican aide said members were disappointed in the Senate bill, which also extends long-term unemployment benefits."

They will pass the temporary fix. Boehner has already stated his "freshmen colleagues" are very tired after a long year and want to get home for Christmas. I wonder how "tired" these legislators would be if they had to work a REAL job!!Marian wrote:http://news.yahoo.com/senate-passes-payroll-tax-cut-spending-bill-023931120.html

From what I've also read Boehner has gotten a lot of flack because of the cuts that he has proposed and is actually considering renewing the UI benefits for another year. He and the GOP are concerned because this is an election year. We shall see!

FWIW, it's being covered on MSNBC. Vote is scheduled for around 6:00 tonight.
Boehner is not really including UI so much as he is jerking around the payroll tax.

Scary! But whatever they do it still needs to again go through the Senate and then the President...

Prime example of gridlock. It's going nowhere fast. Senate is already on vacation.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he won’t reopen talks on extending a payroll tax cut through next year until the House of Representatives approves a Senate-passed bill that continues the tax cut for two months.
“I will not reopen negotiations until the House follows through and passes this agreement that was negotiated by Republican leaders” in the Senate, Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said in a statement today.
Earlier today, House Speaker John Boehner said the House will vote tonight and is expected to reject the Senate bill and call for new negotiations with the Senate.

Wonder how many of these folks own stock in TransCanada? That pipeline should not even be a factor, these morons are a bunch of pure evil greedy 1 percenters. And, they think Americans can't see through them, let's pollute along the midwest for a few 100 permanent jobs. Boom and bust crap again.

They've done nothing to move forward today other than reject what the Senate put ahead... Obnoxious! They are so stubborn!
