"You’ve been sleeping on the streets for two months pleading peacefully
for a new spirit in economics. And just as your camps are raided, your
eyes pepper sprayed and your head’s knocked in, another group of people
are preparing to camp-out. Only these people aren’t here to support
occupy Wall Street, they’re here to secure their spot in line for a
Black Friday bargain at Super Target and Macy’s."
Lets send a message.

I couldn't agree more. Of course, it's easy for me, I am a 99er and there is no "camping out" for gifts after almost two years of no benefits, just as there won't be for many of our members.

And don't forget those poor overworked and underpaid workers who are being forced by those greedy corporate a**holes to cut their thanksgivings short in order to come to work Thursday night! "Disgraceful" doesn't even begin to describe what they're doing! Maybe unethical, immoral, and criminal is more accurate.

Re: Buy Nothing on Black Friday and Saturday.
Not buying anything on Black Friday won't be a problem, since I can't afford to buy anything. I've never been a big fan of that insanity anyway, and usually find that I get better deals after Christmas (like in January).
On a somewhat related note, this thread made me think of Michael Moore's documentary "Capitalism: A Love Story", and the topic of Corporate Owned Life Insurance, also known as Dead Peasant Insurance. The links below are to a clip from the documentary that explains what it is, and a website that has more information about the subject, and a list of companies known to have bought policies on the lives of their employees.
Supposedly, there are limits on, and guidelines for the practice. I don't know if Wal-Mart still does this, and I don't know how many other companies are actually currently doing this, but it's a disgusting practice.
