Stop legal immigration: are they just adding to the problem?

After watching the last 2 debates I think the Politicians are talking out of both sides of their mouths.

On one side they call public programs: welfare, unemployed lazy socialists, food stamps.
On the other, forget the illegal workers, they are letting thousands emigrate from Africa, Middle East etc. Legally. The problem I see is most of these people are going to need public assistance immediately from the government. Does this not add to the problem of social security and many other issues. More people to take out of the pot without having a job to be paying into the pot right now. Maybe if times were good for employment they could eventually get jobs and start to pay into the system but for now it is a no win situation. I have heard people say we need the labor, how is that going to work if they can't labor with no job!!!

Just Amazed by it all. Not trying to be a jerk, just can’t see how it will work to keep this up??
