The Hostage Crisis Continues: Why Obama Can't Pivot to Jobs and Growth

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/obama-jobs-budget-deal-_b_916556.htmlNine paragraphs into his remarks today announcing the nation has paid most of the ransom the radical right demanded as a condition for maintaining the full faith and credit of the United States (he didn't use these exact words), the president pivoted to the agenda he should have been talking about all along:
"And in the coming months I'll continue also to fight for what the American people care most about: new jobs, higher wages, and faster economic growth."
But what precisely will he fight for now that the debt deal has tied his hands?
He says he wants to extend tax cuts for middle class families and make sure the jobless get unemployment benefits.
Fine, but the new deal won't let him. He'll have to go back to Congress after the recess (five weeks from now) and round up enough votes to override the budget caps that now restrict spending. What are the odds? Maybe a little higher than zero.

Now is not the time to cut Federal jobs! In 1937, we made the same mistake of cutting back on programs too soon. This prolonged the Great Depression until WWII started.
The rich have not payed their fair share in years. At least make it even with the middle class. They want class warfare, well that is what they are going to get!
If Obama wanted to help the exhaustees, it should have been last December. Don't talk to us now. We have quit listening to their garbage. Actions speak for themselves. This whole deficit thing was a smoke screen not to do anything.
United States is the greatest stealer in history. Stole from the Indians and Mexicans. Now the rich want to return to slavery and have people die before their times. Lack any responsibility and not accountable to anyone. They have used us like fools.
We will see it when we can believe it. Until that time Obama, please shut up!

The government and the rich, who own the government appear to be playing a waiting game. They know it's only a matter of time when they take everything that we got in the 80's and 90's and put it back in their slimy pockets, and they have pleanty of useful id**ts helping them, like scam artists. Then we have no more resources left to survive on. THEY MUST BE STOPPED!
The government is supposed to represent us, that's what a republic is all about. It's not supposed to represent it's own selfish interests. America was formed by people who wanted to escape tyranny. Now 235 years later the tyrants are back. If you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it!

What did Republicans learn from the debt ceiling debacle? All the wrong lessons. Here is Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell gloating about taking the economy "hostage."
"I think some of our members may have thought the default issue was a hostage you might take a chance at shooting. Most of us didn’t think that. What we did learn is this — it’s a hostage that’s worth ransoming."
The hostage takers got their ransom. They will surely take the economy hostage once more.

Yep the Prez is holding a birthday bash slash fundraiser on our dime for Millionaires and Billionaires he loves GE and he wouldn't have goten elected without Wall Street (his biggest contributors guess they saw the hand writing on the wall). He's to busy worrying about his job to worry about mine; as for the Repubs I think they forgot there was an UE crisis.
