ORIENTATION!!!

For those interested in a bit of good news:

I just completed orientation today on my new permanent salaried full benefits position! Met with my new manager afterwards for a few minutes for a tour of the department, discussion of my work schedule, training and saw my new cubicle. Yes I'm in a cubicle and glad to have it even though I had my own office with a door on my last job. Anyway it was information overload with all the department heads coming in to share the highlights with us new hires. They fed us breakfast and lunch and we got our ID badges and parking decals. I was so thrilled just to be there because it was surreal...I had started to wonder if I'd ever get another job offer beyond contractual positions. All the discussion of benefits and corporate missions, security, etc... I looked around the room and wondered how many of the other new hires were previously on unemployment like me. How many were almost 99ers like me or were 99ers already. I'm very thankful and feel very blessed to be among the employed again and working in my career field. Good luck to all of you as well; I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Your no different than I; we all just want decent jobs to live our lives.

Thanks Sick & Tired, I does feel great. It will take us awhile to get our financial "house" back in order but at least we're on the road in the right direction finally. Not to sound ungrateful but it's almost overwhelming to look at the bills and decide who and what to pay first; but at least now I can make payment arrangements and get the ball rolling. So many things have been on hold; it's like where do we start to rebuild? Again, not ungrateful...just a bit overwhelmed.
