Anyone ever work at Aldi's?
There is an Aldi's supermarket that just opened in my neighborhood. I had no idea it was there. I haven't been leaving the house a whole lot lately.
Has anyone ever worked for them or know anyone who does or has?
How hard is it to get your foot in the door as a basic worker?
I would even work there part time if I could get it.

Re: Anyone ever work at Aldi's?
We have a new one as well, they held a job fair, it was packed, but they did interview everyone who came and promised calls back either way, I haven't heard yet, it was two weeks ago. They said they have an opening team who literallly works for opening the store and they do the training, so if hired you would work with them after the store opens. Don't know if it will go anywhere, but they were very nice and very polite to all the applicants while I was there. No nonsense about being unemployed or over 50. They provide benefits and their wages are decent. They are also closed on Sundays here in PA and NJ only open until 10PM not a 24 hr deal like most of the supermarkets here.
Give it a shot lendme. I figured even if I didn't get the job, it was good to have a decent interview, with a real interviewer who was looking for skill and competancy not worrying about my age or recent unemployment history. I was glad I went. We shall see what happens.

I missed the job fair I guess. The store opened today. I heard that they only hire a few employees. I might as well try though. I heard they pay decent. The stores here are open on Sundays but they are only open 9-7 during the week. That would be excellent.

Aldi's does pay higher wages than most grocery chains, and another thing to keep in mind, they also have job positions as food distribution warehouse workers. The pay for a warehouse worker is being advertised around here (western PA) as $15.00/hour.

I used to work at Aldi's there a great place to work at. They will train you for a register job first which is easy you dont have to bag your groceries. But you will run register and also stock because they dont hire a lot of employees to keep the cost of food down.

Thanks Rose. I really want to get on there. They have decent pay and great hours. They close here at 7 pm.
