New NELP Report ~ Discrimination Against Jobless Americans is on the Rise
Reports of systematic and often blatant exclusion of unemployed workers from consideration for jobs began to
emerge early last summer: A global phone manufacturer posted a job announcement for a marketing position
that explicitly said “No Unemployed Candidates Will Be Considered at All”; a Texas electronics company’s
online listing said it would “not consider/review anyone NOT currently employed regardless of the reason”; an
ad for restaurant managers in New Jersey said applicants “Must be currently employed.”

What are they going to do about it? Have they mentioned the 99ers? I am going to contact them today and see if I can get some answers.

I answered two of those ads, giving as little information as posible, told them i was employed and made up some benefits to the mythological job, and said I was looking for a change and asked them why I should leave my current company for theirs. What could they offer me that my current employer didn't.
Needless to say, they didn't answer me.

I think its all inclusive and not just targeted at one group. 99ers need not be mentioned by themselves since this goes for all unemployed. And companies that do list this are careful to do this through hiring managers. So if confronted they could blame them.
