The problem isn’t on the supply side of the ledger. Corporate profits are still healthy. Big companies continue to sit on a cash hoard. Large and middle-sized companies can easily borrow more, at low rates.

Companies are holding on to their money because they see the storm clouds of the next Great Depression coming over the horizon. They know things are about to get much worse and they are just trying to survive but in the end they will also be left out in the cold....

No doubt corporations are holding back. I don't think they ever saw the storm clouds leave. The only people who were touting "economic recovery" were our lawmakers, and only doing so to promote themselves for re-election!
