Coburn needs to worry about his own corrupt soul. I hope they fry him for helping Ensign. They are after him now I saw it on the Maddow show.
What a bastard! Ok time to tweet.

Re: Sen. Tom Coburn worries disability program being used for unemployment benefits
I saw that this morning. Let me tell you something. I have an unemployed friend who has lost everything and done everything the RWNJ say to do to find a job. I called the Speaker's office and told them about her and I asked them if they had any ideas as to what she should do next since she has done everything THEY say you should do. The reply was she should apply for disability, she is only 47. So you can damn betcha I will be calling Coburn's office tomorrow about this and BTW, I have took the name of the person I spoke with at the Speaker's office too. These RWNJs need to get their stories straight.

In many cases unemployment is a major factor contributing to permanent disability!! From depression to lack of medical care for exsisting conditions. This guy just heard the sound of cha-ching going to deserving people and even if SSDI can help you survive....I doubt any are content to find themselves in this position.

You forgot "hypocrite"!
There were people who took advantage of SSDI long before the unemployment crisis began. Sorry, but the long-term unemployed do not want disability - they want a JOB!
I got my annual Social Security statement not too long ago and I could never live on what a disability would provide. Even if I were disabled, I would still want to work! The amount I would get for a disability pension wouldn't keep a roof over my head, but would be too much to qualify for Medicaid. Screwed!
Kathleen is right - having no health insurance for over 3 years now is a cause for many of these new disability claims. People with no incomes cannot afford health care or medication!
Coburn needs to resign with his buddy, Ensign. And you are right, mistermunster, he needs to take little Madeline with him!

Re: Sen. Tom Coburn worries disability program being used for unemployment benefits
I qualified for SSDI when I was employed. I just couldn't admit to myself I needed it. I still have a brain and skills that don't require physical activity beyond my capabilities. But then I had the temp job that required a 2-3 hour commute. Sitting for so long made for a VERY disguntled employee.
Now I am hoping (IF I go the SSDI route instead of straight SSI) it'll be a "selling" point in being reemployed. Who knows? Freaking crystal ball never worked!
