This is coming, mark my words. I do not think there will be a revolution but there will be a civil rights era uprising for the working class.

It's already started. As I've created another topic about this, Indiana lawmakers have fled their statehouse in protest to an anti-union bill.

I just read on twitter that they stopped the senators direct deposit and they will now have to pick up their checks in person on the senate floor. not sure how accurate that is because it was an excerpt of a blog posting.
ps. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread...i wont be offended if you want to delete it or merge it with another.

Re: Wisconsin: Protesters Ranks Swell to 85,000-100,000
a little kick in the butt IS NOT what I want to see done. These leeches and lying parasites NEED to be broken and put back in line by the people for their atrocities against us all. Those who have SERVED themselves at OUR expense all this time need to be punished, no quarter given what so ever. They WOULDN'T do it for us so why should we award them any mercy. And Fox News needs to be purged from this nation, unless they decide to BE FAIR and Balanced for ONCE.

Problem is munster it will take bullets to accomplish what you are saying. That is off the table. It runs so deep now I think the damage is irreversible.

In truth, it's the ONLY thing that get their attention. Remember the odd are 10,000,000 (US) to 1 (them).

Required viewing when discussing Unionization
On the Waterfront (1954)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047296/
Gives you a little glimpse of what it was like.
Unions have become so rare these days that
most workers have never been part of them.
The public employee unions are a long standing
strong hold. But, are they relevant? Or a
better question are there members benefits
equal to non-union workers in the same
type of positions?
Here in California the average school teacher
makes just over $60k/yr, works about 9 months
of the year and teaches a class of on average
23 students. Compare that to a State with an
unemployment rate of over 12% where someone
with a College degree is lucky to land a job
paying $30k/yr.
In Wisconsin from what I'm reading it's a
"closed shop" that in that you cannot be a
teacher unless you join the union. And if
your supervisor wants to make a change in
your job function the supervisor must clear
that with the shop steward. That is a very
very old Union structure. I'm not sure you
can run any kind of company that way anymore.
When I was in Grade/High School the average
class size was about 40 and the teachers made
very little income. I got a pretty good education.

Re: Wisconsin: Protesters Ranks Swell to 85,000-100,000
I think that it's only a matter of time. The protests in Egypt was just the start. If you noticed that once the protests in Egypt were successful in ousting President Mubarak that it started to sweep across the Middle East like a plague. Now, they're having trouble in Libya, China is expressing concern and it could sweep through other countries in the Middle East.
It seems that even the Labor protests that began in Wisconsin has also spread to Ohio and Indiana with workers in those states protesting with their fellow workers in Wisconsin. Matter of fact, the Wisconsin protest has had an effect in Indiana as their state lawmakers have also fled the statehouse in protest of the anti-Union bill being considered there, as well.
This was only a matter of time before something like this would rally the American People against the policies of "big brother, big government" and the American People are no longer going to take excuses or the government continuing to strip away their rights as American citizens and as hard-working American workers.
Just wait, it's also only a matter of time before the American People start rising up against the Health Care law and the Patriot Act. While this didn't start in Washington, I think it should be a cause for serious concern among Republicans for continually rocking the boat and angering Americans. It's also not going to end, even if Wisconsin Governor Walker relents to backing off of the bill. He started something that the Republican Party will not be able to put a lid on.
He woke the sleeping giant ...

Wonder if P.A will be next??there was a article in the pittsburgh post gazette about the same thing happening for the State employees collective bargaining agreement..got this when I put P.A state workers bargaining agreement...Pennsylvania labor leaders worry Wisconsin's tactics could spread ...
Feb 19, 2011 ... He also wants to change the unions' collective bargaining rights. ... and come out with a collective bargaining agreement that both sides can agree to. ... State workers may actually get the CHOICE to pay dues or not. ..Something has to make the middle class get a back bone if what the government has been doing now don't do it..I guess nothing ever will..But then again nothing ever has...

It's not going to get steam if they DON'T go after private sector employers as well. State employees UNION rights SHOULD NOT be the the ONLY thing being talked about or addressed.

I agree, mistermunster- here in Iowa, private sector unions are at the state capital protesting in Solidarity with our public sector union brothers and sisters! It ain't over yet, believe me- we have only just begun to fight...
