Hi Carol! Thanks for the info. I believe one of our members is involved in this program with the AFL-CIO in Portland, Oregon.

Re: HUFFINGTON POST ARTICLE: Events & help for 99ers
“As the President and Co-Founder of the American 99ers Union, representing both groups & individuals from all across this great Nation who advocate for the longest term unemployed, I would humbly raise the following question.
If the community organizing affiliate of the AFL-CIO is making a concerted effort to work with America’s unemployed, would it not make for an easier assimilation process by reaching out to the same national organization that Rep. Barbara Lee's office contacted with respect to the introduction of H.R.589?
Previous attempts to reach out to the AFL-CIO requesting a working partnership have gone unanswered. If the AFL-CIO is now moving in a new direction, the American 99ers Union would welcome an open line of communication, as we continually strive to save American lives, rebuild the American economy, and get Americans back to work without delay. We look forward to creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
Respectfully,
Gregg S. Rosen, CPNLP
President/Co-Founder
The American 99ers Union
