Not employed employment
I don't know if any of you have experienced this situation.
Several weeks ago, I was "hired" by an out-of-state company as a PC Tech. What I was told I would be doing, is going into banks to replace their computer hardware and external bank specific peripherals. The pay rate was $14.00/hr which isn't too bad. It took me several weeks to go through all their hoops, mostly because the Manager was slow about getting stuff emailed out. After I had completed their the bank's training material and had sent back my answers, I called within a weeks time to find out what was holding up getting assigned to a team. Well, the Manager stated that I would be called by the local lead to be put on a team. I waited a couple days, called the Manager back and was told that the lead's workload had changed. I waited a week and then called the Manager back, and was told that the bank had changed their rules and had limited how many techs could be used.
Essentially, I was led down the garden path and was lied to about having a job. That company is acting like a Temp agency. Have you come in and interview for a job, go through the drug test and payroll stuff, but never actually do anything that would require them to pay you. I feel like such a puppet on a string.
Go through all the hiring routine and still not be working. I hate companies that lead someone to think they have a job, when in actually it is all a pack of lies!!!

Company called Netwiew.....or Team Netview. Might have to write them up for promising work, putting you through the paces and then not providing work.

Not the same company who I went through, but your story is very similar to mine... hired hopes up , then nothing ... I do feel the same as you do though.. puppet on the string

I am so sorry 503, that is horrible and cruel to do to someone. I have heard of this type of thing happening before. It should be against the law.

I hate temp agencies. I have never had a good experience with them. My roommate loves them and says they have so much work right now but she has a lot of experience being an administrative assistant and that is kind of what they have.
