99ers Union - Take Action
***ATTENTION ALL 99ERS and UNEMPLOYED***:
THANK YOU FOR DECIDING TO TAKE ACTION AND ADDING YOUR VOICE!
On Monday and Tuesday March 28 and 29, please contact House Speaker Boehner and Rep. Cantor and urge them to pass H.R. 589 A.S.A.P.!
WE MUST HAVE CALLS, FAXES, TWEETS AND EMAILS GOING ALL DAY LONG, BOTH DAYS!

We are organizing an event to "Welcome" Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor back to Washington next week on Monday and Tuesday! All 99ers and unemployed must participate in order for this to be successful!
A strong, unified message must be sent to the House Leaders now that they have agreed to a meeting with Reps. Lee and Scott. Our voices need to be heard NOW!

I am sending our letter, the 99ers Union letter and some new clips regarding consumer confidence being down, cost of food and gas, rising Food Stamp and Food Bank usage and my list of questions on Tax Cuts and Job Creation.
Sending to Speaker Boehner, Leader Cantor and all Republicans as well as the Democrats who have not yet co-sponsored.
I am also sending the same package to Ed and to Dylan Ratigan under the Steel Wheels site.

It is also recommended that you contact YOUR Rep., Democrat or Republican, and tell them to support this Bill. In all correspondence, please mention you are a member of the American 99er Union - there is power in numbers. Mention to your Rep. that millions need this Bill to pass in order to survive. There are not enough jobs for the the unemployed, including the 99ers. We are not "discouraged" workers, we are just disgarded workers who have a difficult time to just get an interview because of the length of unemployment. Millions are facing foreclosure and eviction, and the situation is not getting any better. If your Rep. is a Democrat ask him or her to please be willing to look for FUNDING for this bill by thinking outside the box; and b) be willing to "strike a deal" with Republicans, to give them something they want (a vote perhaps?), in order to get them to vote for this Bill, which will provide a short term safety net while Congress turns its focus to Job Creation.

Remind ALL of them that We Will Vote in 2012, and we will not forget!

Now that the repubs control the house where spending bills must start, why on earth would they support any extensions for the 99'ers? They have not done one thing for the middle or lower class in 30 years-why would they start now? Even if they got tweets showing 99% support for extensions, they would not do anything because it would 'increase the deficit'. If you couldn't get a bill to pass when the democrats controlled the house, why think it would happen now? The only hope(slim as a hair) would be for 1 of 2 things to happen. One, 99ers marching in the streets getting TV coverage or somehow making a case to the repubs that passing an extension would make Obama look bad. Those are the only things repubs might respond to.

I think they would pass it if its paid for as they have stated in the past as well as counting all the 99ers again would make the unemployment rate spike and make Obama look bad.

No matter what our odds are at this moment, we cannot afford to give up, with no serious job creation legislation, no serious hiring discrimination legislation additional benefits are our only hope of survival right now.
Whatever your can do, whatever time you can give is greatly appreciated and much needed.

Too subtle a political point for national politics. Too much going on in the Middle East and Japan for there to be any attention paid to this.
