The suffering of the NOW generation.
I have the original authors permission to share this. I thought everyone should see it.
The suffering of the NOW generation.
I wasn't going to post this and then I wasn't sure where to post it, here or prayers. Yes, the family needs prayers, but this makes me so very angry.
She's 15. She's on the A/B honor roll. She's a member of the debate team and the drama club. She has a steady boyfriend that she swears (right now) that she's going to marry one day. She took a vow of abstinence until she's married. She's a good girl. She's the daughter of a friend of mine, a fellow #99er.
Two days ago, she overdosed on her mother's prescription medications. She almost didn't make it. This was two months after they lost the house she was brought home from the hospital to and they were forced to move in with family and she had to switch schools mid year.
The republicans scream about the debt to our future generations. The future generation is suffering NOW.
I hope this story angers you as much as it has me.

Prayers for your friend, her daughter and you. Yes this situation makes us all angry. Please know we will keep her in our thoughts, and if you can, let us know how she is.

Thank you for the kind words Mary Kay. Children have little control over their circumstances and are generally the voiceless victims of unemployment.

Our government is too worried about Haiti to care about this child. God Bless her.
