Jobless claims fall to nearly 3-year low
There were 368,000 initial jobless claims filed in the week ended Feb. 26, the Labor Department said Thursday. That was down 20,000 from the week before, and the lowest since May 2008.

These are FIRST TIME Jobless claims. Anyone who returned to work temporarily or lost their job but still had an open claim are NOT counted in this number. It also is not an indicator of the growing number of 99ers!
They claim it is an indication the economy is recovering. I say that it is an indication of not many jobs left to lose!

Agreed and Agreed. Where are the jobs? 368,000 is not a small number of job losses.

The numbers don't add up. Gallup is projecting a 10.3% National unemployment rate for February.

Re: Jobless claims fall to nearly 3-year low
These statistics and numbers our government spews out are nothing more than lies and distortions to satisfy those not really paying attention (those who work and don't have time to pay attention). Our so-called government "for the people and by the people" is a farce. They don't tell the truth to remain in control of a situation that would otherwise send panic and chaos through the streets. We are living in a country divided not only by beliefs and ideologies or the haves and have nots but a country that no longer competes and is rapidly headed to a third world status.

Just read an article that talked about this on MSNBC. In the article, they said that with unemployment claims dropping and that employers could ramp up hiring new workers, that the unemployment rate could start dropping.
However, the article also noted that the job in the unemployment rate would be for "state benefits." Federal Unemployment Extensions still remain exceptionally high and those numbers aren't being affected:
