Hello all. I've been away
I'm not sure if anyone around remembers me but I've been away for sometime. I've been employed for the past year and worked one full time and one part time job. Now at the end of the July with Federal budget cuts, I am once again unemployed. Just filed for UI again and I'm better shape than I was in 2009. Unfortunately this country is still in the crapper. I guess I need to fine a new gig, just getting one that last a few years is the trick.

Hello, Mistermunster!!!
I'm so glad you found employment - even for a while.
We've missed you - but were very happy for your success in finding employment...

Well, it was all fun and games until they pinkslip you. What bugs me most is just the way they treat you in the end. Once you turn over your badge, your instant dog crap and they escort you out to the lobby. This is the real foul side of the AMERICAN corporate workplace, use and lose. It leaves a very bad taste. Now I need to fight the isolation of being at home and what I need to do. Still got 10 grand of dental procedures to get done too. Nice thought, just working for medical insurance. What have we become?

My husband and I want to win the lottery so that we can get medical insurance and get our teeth fixed. Indeed - what have we become?

Re: Hello all. I've been away
Hi Mister Munster
I know what you mean, jobs are not stable anymore, the days of a stable job are gone. My husband has had nothing but temp jobs for the last year in a half, nothing going perm. It is very depressing and discouraging this situation. My husband also back on the unemployment merry go round again, so frustrating!. We need to all win the lottery.

Hey Munster!!
Glad you're back, but sad you're back because you're unemployed again. At least you got the taste of being employed again, getting an income, being able to pay all of your bills and hopefully have a little left over.
You found your personal key to success, and because of this, you'll be working again in notime!

Sorry to hear this. It always makes me sad to hear people who crawl out of the trenches end up back in. Well, at least your separation wasn't personal. Keep riding the recently employed high and hit the pavement for the best results! Good luck!

welcome back to the forum..
in Ohio they have low income/cost dental places..
got all teeth pulled and fake teth for a fraction of the cost, i think its federal program administered at the county wide level
as an example a visit cost $30 even if they pull 2 or three teeth

Hey MisterMunster....I'm joining you. In my case, my 1yr supposed contract ended suddenly after 4 months. I've only completed 1 contract in 3yrs! Intel tends to end contracts early.....so, now back to depression caused by the unemployment/employment rollercoaster. Meanwhile, the employment department is requiring me to attend a low-grade call center hiring event....

Re: Hello all. I've been away
Had 3 (demeaning) interviews so far....no takers. UI is in motion. Working on an entrepreneurial endeavor that may over the next year yield profit but to tell you the truth....depression sets in quick. I was out just 3 days and it was like I never left the nightmare and the last year was like a dream. This I believe is the cause of the Capitalist system for those who have been trapped in the "Must get a job working for someone else" mentality. This is the flaw in the system. We all have been conditioned for generations to follow this line of thought because your either the boss or the slave....um I mean worker. And once we don't have that and are removed from that environment....that empty feeling of uselessness sets in. It's automatic for everybody. We got kicked out of the sandbox and can't play anymore and have to claw our way back in by hook or by crook, usually taking what we can get just to survive. It's a tough row to hoe and I'm really sick of it because the cycle just keeps going and new slaves...I mean workers are plentiful to the taskmasters who control it all. You get to a certain age where the bosses can just go to hell.

That's where most of them belong, for what they did either knowingly or unknowingly (useful idiots) to people like us in order to shed jobs in response to the economic collapse that took place. An event that big corporations knew would happen years in advance in my opinion.mistermunster wrote:You get to a certain age where the bosses can just go to hell.

Oh to be 20 again
You are absolutely right! I was the oldest one in my office. I didn't literally dance in front of my boss as I was doing his filing in his office in front of him as he watched. But the 20-something did and she was taken out to lunch and to happy hour and she laughed up with the boss and now... Now, she's still working there and I'm not.mistermunster wrote:I mean workers are plentiful to the taskmasters who control it all. You get to a certain age where the bosses can just go to hell.

possibly because i am a "reformulated/recovered" alcoholic or maybe not, (part of sobriety is taking an inventory)...I use "critical thinking" on everything....mistermunster wrote:Had 3 (demeaning) interviews so far....no takers. our ordinary citizen has virtually no clue as to how much their entire "world view" is a product of culture and Madison avenue type PR since childhood....
for myself i have eliminated the concept of "good and evil" and dismiss them as 90 percent culturally learned behavior, which makes me an extreme liberal in some respects..
no i am not a communist, socialist or any other large body of people ISM,,,
the future may be a collective bunch of small localities run at the local level,
i don't know for sure, but the Ponzi scheme of money as debt, fractional reserve banking and powerful centrally organized corporations appears to be at a crisis..
I dismiss the concept of an Illuminati as just another angle on that good-bad/us-them thing..
we have a large body of able people willing to do and make things and no money invested in them (money that is simply conjured up out of thin air...
At this point the US is a huge Imperial power spending a trillion dollars in military junk to occupy strategic places in the Oil Paradigm, the question is is this huge supply of money a wise investment or not...
1)It probably keeps the dollar as the preeminent currency
2) would we ALL be better off just buying oil on the world market (with euros, probably)?
these are questions and others we should ask our elected officials
as long as we have people who don't question much of anything, OUR SYSTEM shall remain broken within its limited scope..

Re: Hello all. I've been away
Well it's been awhile again and after eight months, all my current options for follow on work has failed and my money is almost gone. To make things worst my Mother has developed Alzheimers which is advancing and my Dad is doing no better. So after being in Southern CA for many, many years it's has come for me to move north and home to spend time with my parents while I can. I gave it my best shot for the last 5 years and four months to stay afloat after the loss of my initial job of 11 years. Did some really crummy jobs for $$$ and thought that things were looking up this last year when I got back some dignity with a job in my ballpark. Now it too is gone. The country is still in the crapper. Congress cares not for the needs of the people unless they got money. And now I have to deal with the burden of the coming grief with my family and all the legalities that will ensue. I really don't know about anything anymore. This whole life I've been chasing for the last 35 years was for nothing. Now figuring out what to do and the complete unknown that faces me now. Too many years behind and too few ahead. My retirement looks bleak....who can say.

For me, What retirement??? If I do get a decent, long-term job, I will be working long past my former full retirement age....we're both too young to "retire" and too old to be hired.....it sucks majorly.....

Hi Mister Munster
I used to post here at Beretta1071, but I changed my username. So sorry to hear about your troubles. Seems like life is crappy for so many people now. My husband is in the same boat as you, he has been temping on and off for 2 years, since January 2012. Nobody wants to hire full time, all they want is temps, to fill in when they are busy and then let them go, that is all my husband can get is temp work. He is on unemployment again, so tired of this merry go round, that looks like with no end

Re: Hello all. I've been away
Thanks all, Yeah I keep up on all the UI BS out there. It's makes me so mad how Congress has been sticking it to the unemployed. I really am starting to hate the very system we currently have. It's no longer equatable for the people. They have killed our jobs, our retirements, our futures....all for their own PROFIT. Need food stamps to eat.....STARVE they say. It really sucks across the board. I just don't know anymore.

Boehner is an ORANGE fool in a Congress of wealthy fools. Their hatred for struggling, unemployed and poor people is beyond astounding. I just hope come November.....there will be a massive purge of these scum that are obstructing everything since day one (2009)

Re: Hello all. I've been away
Hi Munster,
Glad and sorry to see you back. Glad to hear from you, but sorry to hear about your job and family situation.
This crummy economy is relentless to some, but seems to have little effect on most. I don't know how the majority are managing to stay employed during this depression. It gotta be a combination of dumb luck and politics, and of course they will not share (nor admit) how they're doing it.
When I see those commercials on TV, especially the luxury car commercials with these thirty and forty-something's at the wheel, I want to put my foot through my TV screen (my TV still has a picture tube). I feel as if this country has left me and all the other victims behind.
As far as congress goes, I'm all for it, but it will take a near parliamentary-style dissolving (I wish our constitution had such an emergency provision), else the newcomers will simply be assimilated into DC's cesspool of a culture.
I hope things get better for you, and soon!
