I Found a new job!,relieved, but still have concerns...
Hi all, I posted a while ago on another thread about how I knew I was getting let go from my old job, and whether or not I should get unemployment, etc. Well, it happened earlier this week, and my manager got really nasty when telling me he was letting me go, saying how I needed to change or I would have problems at future positions, all the things I did wrong, some of which were not even things I was responsible for, failing the PIP, etc. I probably should have just walked out, but before that happened, I accepted a position at another company, praise god, couldn't believe I found something so fast that was also in my field, at a great company.
However, the separation was kindof hard to take, even though I knew it was coming , did not really want to stay there and had something else lined up. I am fearful that my anxiety, emotional issues from this experience will affect my new job in a negative way. At least I have a little time before the new position starts, which will be a great opportunity. Has anyone else ever been through something like this?, it seems like most people , not surprisingly in this economy, are not able to get a job before they are let go. While I am very thankful and relieved to have landed a job this quick, I don't want emotional baggage from my old job to creep into this new opportunity, does that make sense?

Cog, take it easy. We all have our insecurities and anxiety. Life is tough these days. You'll do fine... congrats!

Cog, a change of scenery may just be the thing for you. Also, this would be a great opportunity to prove that nasty and negative former "boss" of yours wrong. Also, keep in touch with collegues at your former place. It will be good for networking, and also to find out when that former boss of yours gets canned.
Congrats on your new job, and I wish you many productive and happy years there! It's true what they say, "It's easier to get a job when you have a job".
