Try to stay warm! We had a little over a week of freezing fog (Portland-Metro Oregon), but nothing like the low temps you people are getting.

1 degree this morning! Didn't even want to look at the windchill factor! Last night, advocates for the homeless searched the city of Providence to bring those with no place to go to an emergency warming center until this arctic air gets out of here....sometime next week! There are over 4,400 homeless in this state, last year 32 homeless died from exposure to the cold, and we had a mild winter. Pretty staggering figures for the smallest state in the Union.

They did that here too, Desp. Lots of warming centers were open, during that time of very cold days. Of course now that the rain has returned, all of those homeless have been pushed back out to fend for themselves. Can't have people not paying for the heat, facilities and floor space for long, it might cause the stock market to crash again.

Re: cold in ohio
That's sad they tossed them out. I got a 200 dollar electric bill. Hope we can pay it. I think I can but its high stress, I have electric heat. This may be weird question but what happens to homeless with asthma or COPD who may die if they are out in the cold. I hope they do not just let those people die. It really worries me.
