The "Jobs Crisis" and the economy should NOT BE POLITICAL ISSUES! We are people, not political pawns!

We are all people, we've been pawns for 4 years and this is not our fault.

What will it take to make them see that? Any members have suggestions on how we should continue the fight for JOBS and BENEFITS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED? Please, post them.

I'm going to be very brief here - unless I just woke up and America is a socialistic State and Union, exactly WHO do you demand to provide jobs to WHOM?

And in this country we call free - WHY?!!!

The tissues and drama are spent.

Aloneinny,

I'm pretty sure you are intelligent enough to get your point across without insulting people. You seem to have all the answers tonight, why don't you focus your energy on starting a thread with your detailed ideas on what exactly you would like to see done to help the situation. If you do, do so without the drama and insults please.

I'm sorry if you are having a rough time but do not take it out on the people here. If its an argument you are looking for I'm not biting! It wastes valuable time and energy.

Here is an idea...STOP OUTSOURCING! Penalize companies that shift their money and jobs overseas! Good starting point in my opinion.

Corporate greed ie outsourcing was and continues to be the anchor holding the economy down.

I'm not having a tough time at all. I think I was very straight forward with my thoughts. I'll try to sugar coat them next time, although that just dances around getting to the point.

No one wants to sugar coat. Just don't think it's necessary to be so rude. JMO

The President speech this afternoon left me... well, I guess it just left me. We have 100,000 to a million email addresses at our disposal. How do we turn these email addresses into a valuable commodity? How can all these email addresses guarantee us a seat at the table instead of on the floor hoping crumbs will fall. How can we grab greedy Congress' attention with our email clout? A Wall Street lawyer would find a way - and that is what we need to do. Money talks... everything else walks! Put on your thinking caps. Throw some half-baked idea out here and we'll try to get it to stick to the wall. The selling of email addresses is a lucritive business and its all we got. We have got to become a force to be reckoned with or all we will receive is more lip-service and empty promises. Come on, let's start thinking like Wall Street - we are America and we are American ingenuity!!

Off topic and please forgive me for this. For all of you in the District of Columbia Metro Area -- How was Kuame Brown planning to pay for those bank loans that he didn't have the income for? Glad the IRS and FBI did their jobs; they certainly can't be laid off now because they are on a roll. Yeah, they have a big suspicion that being laid off would really really really suck spider vomit.

One more passing thought: Why did the President address the job situation today? Is there another asteriod hurling toward us that we don't know about... yet.

Desp, I agree with your end goal but I'm sure you'd agree this matter is quite complicated. American companies are working for the most part within well established bi-lateral and multi-lateral FTAs, which actually were written to benefit America just as much as the globe.

However the foreign countries had way too much to gain and America really stepped into the "mud" with complacency and of course short term greed which brought us where we are now.

So if I might, I'd take your action statement and make it:

STOP OUTSOURCING! Provide significant incentives to companies to bring their labor force and industry back to the USA! Good starting point in my (our?) opinion.

(JMO Very Happy )
