Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007 > How To Eliminate Annoying Solication Calls
I've begun to have quite a few calls to my cell phone in the areas of telemarketing and surveys. Not only is this distracting and annoying, but for those that don't have unlimited voice it means valuable minutes lost.
Here's how to stop these calls to your phones.
- Register your numbers at https://www.donotcall.gov/
-or-
- Call 888-382-1222 to register your number (must be from the phone you are registering)
After registering and 31 days have past, if you continue to receive calls you can go to the donotcall.gov site and issue a complaint.
Yesterday I was called by a marketer who wanted me to enroll in an IT tech school. I told her I had a PhD in computer science
. That didn't stop her. She said enrolling in this school would greatly enhance my abilities. I asked her if she knew what a PhD was. She said "no".
I said goodbye... Dr. X signing off
(no I don't have one)
Hope this info helps...

Good information, especially for everyone with Safelink, Assurance Wireless, etc. who receive free phones and 250 minutes a month. Check out their sites to see if you are eligible. Usually, the easiest way to qualify is if you are receiving SNAP.

Thanks for the info! I've been getting these kinds of phone calls lately also. They are really annoying...And can become expensive during a time when every penny counts...
