Please Help - Running out of benefits - Texas
I will be running out of regular benefits in December.
It states that in order for me to goto Tier 1, I must have exhausted my benefits by December 24.
We can do our online payment requests every other Sunday.
When I do my last payment request on Christmas Day, the 25th, that depletes my regular UI claim, it will not be a full payment.
So to sum up, when I make my payment request on the 25th, I am claiming payment for the previous two weeks ending on the 24th.
Since it is not a full payment, I will be depleted.
Will I be able to move to Tier 1.. it is so close..
God bless..

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I think you should be ok...but everyones claim is different. Maybe give them a call? You will make it before Dec. 31 deadline, though. If congress fails to act all federal tiers will expire on dec 31. Those that are currently in a tier will be allowed to finish it out but not continue on to the next tier.
You can find more info about the expiration of tiers here:

Ui Tiers
The above link is a PDF and states that in order for me to be able to move to Tier 1, I must exhaust all my regular UI benefite by December 24th.
------------------------------
EUC Tier 1
Up to 20 weeks
• Must exhaust regular benefits by December 24, 2011
• Benefits may be paid through June 9, 2012
--------------------------------
I do understand the Dec 31 deadline.. but I am on regular state UI, and will be exhausting benefits in December.
Thanks so much for your reply

You will qualify for the next tier IF they can move you on it before the time lapses. You are claiming on the 25th which is the for the previous week. Therefore you will be exhausted by the 24th deadline.

I hope everyone is right here. I wish you the best. I'm so angry I took a job that was cut off. Now I qualify for nothing. But that is the way the ball bounces. I really wish you well.

I hope I am right too. I think it really depends on how your state views your weeks.
