Herman Cain Blames The Unemployed, GOP Debate Audience Cheers

Herman Cain recently criticized the Occupy Wall Street protesters, saying, "Don't blame Wall Street. Don't blame the big banks. If you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself."

At Tuesday night's CNN debate, Cain stood by his comments -- to loud cheers from the audience.

The 99% are creating jobs by employing more police and with overtime. Multiply this throughot the nation and that is better then any GOP plan. It is having an immediate effect. So the police should show more gratitude!

If Mr. Cain is mugged, will he think that it's his fault? If his daughter is raped will he tell her that it was her fault?

The man has no clue about what the unemployed are going through or what they're up against. Doesn't he talk to potential voters when he is campaigning?

I saw Chris Mathews today and he brought it up but they laughed a bit about it then MOVED on to the actual GOP debate. There is a SERIOUS problem THAT sticks out like a very SORE thumb. First it was the "LET EM DIE" comment. Then the JEERS of the gay soldier...and NOW this. And the PROBLEM is THERE are VERY UGLY PEOPLE living in this country and they have a VOICE. I've been seeing it MORE and more with attacks on the OWS movement. The HATRED of Americans who SUPPORT the "SYSTEM" AS IS is the problem. Anyone WHO wants to CHANGE that gets a target pasted on their backs as UNAMERICAN. Can you say "JEWS" with little Star of David, anybody???? The tactic IS the same but delivered in such devious way AS not to upset the apple cart. This is Fascism plain and simple...and it's evil.

Yeah, those in power will fight tooth and nail in order to keep things exactly as they are. In order for change to occur, they'll have to be carried away kicking and screaming, because they are no longer willing to share a portion of what they have with the rest of us, the ones who gave them their wealth and power in the first place.

I generally don't debate politics in real life very much because I tend to get a bit, how should I say, "worked up." Having to hear someone a week ago preach to me the benefits of having a "businessman" like Herman Cain as president tested all my discipline not to roll my eyes, let alone give this guy an earful. What a joke!

Yeah people think the government should be run like a business, government isn't for profit. In fact I am pretty sure it is illegal for it to make a profit. A republican told me that in the Bush years when we were giving away all of Clinton's surplus to the rich.

On the topic of herman cain, I really liked it when Romny let him use his apples and oranges analogy and then said "yeah but I am going to get apples AND oranges right?". That proved his point right there and cain walked right into it.

When Cain said....."You don't have a job, it's YOUR own fault" and at that point the audience started APPLAUDING, loudly. Nobody SEEMS to be ADDRESSING the FACT that their was GREAT APPLAUD at this statement. That SHOULD be the focus of WHAT needs to BE addressed. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICANS In this country WHO would applaud such a thing? That to me is the REAL core problem of OUR problems. THE UGLY AMERICAN wearing a robe of gold.

The pie has been shrinking for the middle class since the Reagan years. I'm afraid that many of the current members of the middle class who haven't yet been hit have the attitude that "I've still got mine. To Hell with the rest of you." Any attempts to reverse the political blatant favoritism toward the ultra rich, are met with shouts of "Socialism!", "Class warfare!", and "Freeloaders!". It's a sad situation.

Since the Reagan years, they've bamboozled the middle class into believing that they are the "haves" from whom the wealth will be extracted to give to the "have nots" unless they join forces with their friends, the "have lots and lots" to prevent this from happening.

But these beautiful kids I see occupying all over the place--they are not falling for this. Mostly because so little has been left for them that even unhealthy doses of self-delusion won't get them to fall in line. And I think that their point of view is getthing though even to those who are perhaps doing OK, but realizing that should be doing far better than they are if all the bull$#+ they were told had actually been true.
