What are your thoughts about what the Occupy Wall Street movements message is?
Some people seem to be confused as to what Occupy Wall stands for. I thought it would be good to express what it means to each of us.
I'll start
To me, this movement is to protest the actions/inaction of our government and the demise of the middle class which started because of wall street greed and corrupt politicians.
Their actions or inaction started a downward spiral of major catastrophic events for millions of Americans. We have sat by helplessly and watched our lives being ripped apart by people whom we trusted.
To me, this movement is about the American people standing up to all the injustices put upon us over the last decade or more. People have suggested that they cant figure out what people are protesting for. Its more than just one thing...there are SEVERAL issues that brought us to this point. There are too many important issues to pick just one.
~Millions are unemployed through no fault of their own
~Millions have lost their homes due to the housing crash.
~Wall street and big banks got bailed out under the ASSUMPTION that they would help avoid an economic disaster. Instead, they chose to misuse the funds given to them and gave out bonuses to their top CEO's and it was "legal" because there was no law stating otherwise. We need to change that.
~The American people were duped, but it wont happen again... because of this movement!!
I see people of all different races, professions, unemployed people, unions, liberals, conservatives, all with their own valid reasons for occupying wall street while at the same time, all coming together, united for more than one common goal...To stop the cycle of corruption, save the middle class and CHANGE where we are headed !! Its a chance for us to be heard and a reminder that we the people are the ones who make this country great. Without us, the USA is nothing. IMO this was long overdue!
Sorry for the rambling, but this movement means so much to me, I could go on and on forever.
We would like to hear your thoughts!! Tell us what Occupy Wall Street means to YOU and what you would like to see it accomplish.

Good job S&T!
Here's mine:
Hey 1%, you can't steal any more from the rest of us! And we want what you've already stolen back! And you need a time-out in prison!
That's enough for me.

I just want a job-one that pays enough so that I can pay the sitter, pay my bills and help my husband to feed our family. I am not asking that much really. I think I have paid my dues, done the corporate thing, dealt with mean managers, always followed the rules. I am now 42 I am getting scared that if I do not find a permanent job soon I never will. I applaud those who are protesting. I think I need to get in on this myself. Saw they were protesting in Cleveland today. Bravo that people are finally letting their voices be heard.

This is just an obvious reaction that happens when you fleece the working class for too long. Ask Czarist Russia how that plan worked out for them. Revolution is a continual process. It should not be one reset but a constant reset. Occupy together is a reaction the working class have when they can't pay the bills but you give billions to oil companies, when right wingers cry about the deficit that they created but say it has to be made right by the senior citizens of this country, when you have Herman Cain telling the poorest of Americans that their income tax will go up to 9% under his administration but the wealthiest of Americans will have a tax reduction to the same amount.
This isn't kindergarten where everyone gets the same amount of crayons. This is life and, as plenty of people have told me in the past two years, life isn't fair. It's time to contribute royalty or will take it from you.
In other news, A-rod chokes again and the Yankees lose.

Re: What are your thoughts about what the Occupy Wall Street movements message is?
To me it shows, what we've all been saying. We are tired of it all. I have nothing against anyone making really good money, being wealthy, living well. I do mind if they don't pay their fair share. Just as a mind anyone of any income not paying their fair share other than those that really cannot.
I mind that we paid to give bonuses because no one did their homework properly, but we can't get any help at all, but our money helped them. I mind that there seems to be a strangle hold on this economy to purposely keep our country from growing and to keep people unemployed because it will suit a particular political party agenda while doing nothing to get to the root of the problem and fix it. I really mind, that while we were in meltdown mode, we had elected officials who, themselves, not having the financial and economic backgrounds required to fix this mess, refused to listen to those who did and recklessly tried to fix a hemmorage with a childs bandaid. One that won't hurt when you pull it off.
What I mind the most, is how the Republican Party, constantly stands up and yells, "you haven't done enough to find a job" while presenting no credible plan to put any of us back to work.
We all had decent lives and we all miss them. I find it unfair, in the name of less government, that we may never have a life even close to that again, and that is it totally in control of the Congress right now.

I could never understand why the rest of us had to pay all the taxes and the rich kept getting breaks after breaks.

Seriously though, what I meant was MANY people seem to have woken up and are on high alert from now on. They are making their voices heard all over the country and it will put fear into the government and wall st. Maybe they will think before they do something like this again. (Of course it will happen again, in some way shape or form...Im not THAT naive. Its human nature.)

The Party is Over! The Fat Lady sang along time ago. Now jobless and homeless. She is now a lean protester. Angry and hungry. No stopping her and others now!
Go girl!
If only the Republicans would have done their job.
