Will There Be A 14 week extension?
I am one check away from my 99 week mark here in IL. Been reading about this possible 14 week extension and wondering what and when we all think this might happen. With the state of the house and senate I will not be holding my breath. I am new here so just wanted some insight and input from everyone. This is a great forum and after struggling 2 years it helps reading alot of the content here.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You are correct Mozdespair, don't hold your breath. If they are not helping those from the hurricane, I don't think they will be helping us.

I agree with you Mozdespair, there is more then likely no help coming for any of us who have exhausted all benefits. I have come to believe that Washington no longers cares about any of the citizens of this country and mostly those of us who have suffered the most in this crap economy. The Repubs are all about their own agenda and nothing else.
So what if a few million loose everything that they have worked for and saved for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rhode Island is helping those who are out of work due to power outages and flooding during the hurricane - they are waiving the one week waiting period for benefits. Those affected can claim starting Sunday. A lot of businesses in the area were forced to close, and still are.Dazed&Confused wrote:You are correct Mozdespair, don't hold your breath. As far as HR 589 and the additional 14 weeks, we have been waiting since the bill was introduced in the beginning of February. Several meetings with the CBC, the White House and Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor and the bill still sits in the House Ways & Means Committee waiting for Chairman Camp to bring it up.
The "99ers" WILL NOT BE LEFT OUT OF ANY LEGISLATION THIS YEAR! We have to keep at them until they listen - THERE ARE NO JOBS!

I agree my party won't pay for s**t unless it meets their stupid means tests while the Dems are more then happy to keep a voting block hostage (since everyone else is fleeing from them). Watch, it will be back to Dec again with all the tax extenders being passed with tax cuts and then maybe, but otherwise to many good sound bites and press ops to help anybody now.
