Yes they set the standards and they set them so they could say they want to hire but can't find any quality candidates

This kind of garbage infuriates me to no end. I've seen some of the openings companies like these put out, "Your duties include, but are not limited to", and then they list pages of tasks, and an equally long list of skills that no one person can possibly have. I'm sure we all seen them.

These types of companies are part of the problem, not part of the solution. If they truely believe that out of the millions of unemployed skilled, educated, diciplined, responsible people that they can't find Mr. or Ms. right, then they have no choice but to start training again, either onsite or offsite. They have the money to do this. They've been hoarding it for years now!

Actually the challenge is ours. The employed could give a crap. The only chance is to collectively bind together and make a physical statement, like MLK.

We're a minority. Deal with it. I'm serious.

The operative word there is "quality". To them "quality" means pe-ons who will do the work of 5 people for next to nothing in salary.

You are right. It is time to make a statement. If we don't, we will have to accept that this is the new way of life. I'm not going to do that. It is up to us to change the direction we are heading in, no one is going to do it for us.

30,000,000 people out of the current workforce of 170,000,000 is not a minority it is a logistics problem. We just can't get all of our a$$es
to Washington DC.

Look a London, we are not only SEEMINGLY lazy TO MANY (or so they think) in this bout with the US UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS. With this government of ours, we are handicapped by location, therefore invisible and our representatives DO NOT LISTEN TO US PEOPLE, THOSE THEY REPRESENT. WHAT A SHOCK.

2012 THEY ALL SHOULD GO. WE HAVE TO BE IN THAT MAJORITY.

And 2011 too!! Whoever's up for re-election that ignored the unemployed need to be voted (kicked) out. WE MUST GET THIS INFO ON WHO THESE POLITITIONS ARE AND VOTE AS A BLOC, LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY!

This same story has been regurgitated over and over. If they cant find qualified workers then TRAIN! That's what companies used to do if it was a specialized skill that no one had.
Best job I ever had I got fully trained on, it was cutting edge technology and then trained others. As long as they have a certain background they would be trained as needed.
