31 US troops, mostly elite Navy SEALs, killed in Afghanistan
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44043847/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/?gt1=43001#.Tj3h7mFuAWsA military helicopter was shot down in eastern Afghanistan, killing 31 U.S. special operation troops, most of them from the elite Navy SEALs unit that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, along with seven Afghan commandos. It was the deadliest single incident for American forces in the decade-long war.
The Taliban claimed they downed the helicopter with rocket fire while it was taking part in a raid on a house where insurgents were gathered in the province of Wardak late Friday. It said wreckage of the craft was strewn at the scene.

Got that right! After 10 years, we shouldn't even be there. Now today is the deadliest day there for America since the 'war' began. Time to come home!mistermunster wrote:More WASTED lives FOR NOTHING.

May God rest their souls and protect their families and may somebody get a clue that it's time to bring them all home; not because of this but because besides the loss of life were in a country that doesn't like us allied with our enemies and we can't afford the wars anymore. Before cuts to any entitlements the wars need to end. Until my side does that then they are not serious about cutting spending.

OUR Troops HAVE BEEN "SOLD OUT" by this corrupted government for 60+ years. This SERVES NO PURPOSE to be there, Except to KEEP the wheels of the GREED Machine of the Military Industrial "CONTRACTOR" Complex to keep spinning. While they USE jingoistic words like FREEDOM, PROTECTION, LIBERTY etc to JUSTIFY this madness, our nation ROTS from within and it's people SUFFER. The ones who makes it back, come home to a JACKED UP country of NO HOPE.

All those YEARS and MONEY and TIME in training those peoples specialized skills are NOW LOST FOREVER. It will take YEARS and MORE MONEY to replace them. We NO LONGER have the TIME, MONEY or LIVES to put towards such a FAILURE of a conflict. IT NEEDS TO END NOW!!!!

I often wonder if the families of those Killed in Iraq and Afghanistan think those wars are worth the loved one's life. I have too much heart to actually ask one.

There will be 2 side to this. One will be ANGRY and DISGUSTED with OUR Government that killed their loved one. The other will be BLINDLY proud waving that "MADE in China" US flag that THINKS the sacrifice was NOT in vain as they still tow the jingoistic mindset that American "EXCEPTIONALISM" "PATRIOTISM" "LIBERTY & FREEDOM" and ALL that bull has value off fighting rag-tag people at the hind-end of the world. While the VERY nation they DIED for is being RAPED, PILLAGED AND PLUNDERED from within by the VERY people who govern it. At this point in the game WE have nothing to be proud of except a VERY old & tired reputation that hasn't seen the light of day since the 1940's. We NEED to clean up our OWN house before we start TELLING others HOW to clean theirs.

I'm speechless over this loss. How can our so-called government stand by idly and watch this happen and do nothing to stop these useless wars!!
God bless those that were lost in this tragedy and their families as well.
