Problem is they WANT "LOW" pay workers. LOW pay workers ARE SLAVES. Plenty of those in 3rd world countries. And they want to REDUCE us to that TOO. When they SAY cut COSTS, They mean GO CHEAP. Only SLAVES are CHEAP. The corporate entities have done nothing more than LEGITIMIZED slavery UNDER the guise of "COST Effectiveness". Remove ALL the economic smoke and mirrors and it comes down to WE want to GO as CHEAP as we can for our products and services. Starving, desperate, potentially homeless people are PRIME candidates to be ENSLAVED to do the work. And in the USA we haven't been brought down to that level yet, but they are working on it.
My friend my friend that is such the easy way out truth be told WE THE CONSUMERS WANT THE CHEAP PRICES AND CHEAP GOODS the corporate elite are only providing what we want. The wealthy pay more for products and quality but the left would never want the wealthy to get credit for that. Class warfare is much better when all the fingers only point in one direction.

It was NEVER about MONEY its about political influence. I DON'T WANT THE DESTRUCTIVE KOCH BROTHERS running the country by buying people like Walker.
The unions were willing to take a pay cut what don't you get? I guess teachers make too much money that is it? Unions tend to be LIBERAL and they can't beat Obama in a straight up election. Don't ge me started of the voter ID bills aimed at curbing liberal votes. THEY CAN'T WIN A FAIR ELECTION SO THEY HAVE TO CHEAT!
If I had to work for a REPUKE and did not vote his way without union rights they could just fire me. Its another way to CONTROL VOTING!

You don't see liberals going to rich country golf clubs to break them up because they lean right!

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid
I see most liberals as hypocrites and full of double talk and sanctimonious BS in a desperate battle to hold on to the little bit of turf they have left. America is sick of one side controlling education in order to indoctrinate and using labor as a pawn to redistribute anything and everything for the sake of jealously, desire and want; replacing hard work and success with need and “social justice” (probably the most BS and over used term beside WMD’s)
I see Soros, SEIU or whatever and their like as no different the Koch’s. The left and Unions have a grand history of ballot stuffing, dead people voting, union thugs (LOL), using the organized crime syndicates to intimidate for the sake of votes as well as getting the mentally ill and convicts, illegal aliens and the like (which unlike the propaganda being spilled the voter id bills have been put up to curb those well documented liberal abuses said thanks to ACORN to name just a few and what is wrong with ensuring that only American’s can vote and vote only once and thereby leave out the chance for fraud). I don’t find Liberals or the new marketing term Progressives to be much different than those on the far right. Apparently the country doesn’t either it has always been center right regardless of all the attempts described above which purely demonstrates the lack of appeal of those policies with the exception of course of pandering and handouts, without handouts, entitlements or let’s call a spade a sped payoff there wouldn’t be many Liberals holding office by pure virtue of their respective ideology.
You are far from a Liberal and far from being blinded by the abuses on the left considering how well you know of the abuses on the right. I find you intelligent and passionate about your beliefs and only hope that more would follow in your footsteps perhaps then the “true left” and “true right” might come out vs. the one party with two heads we have now. And FYI to those in TV land that doesn’t mean the “Tea party” is the answer I find them to be fascists’ IMO

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid
I am beyond, liberal, or progressive now. I am a socialist and proud of it. In fact, we are all socialists since we have been on government benefits.
When people are polled about policies they almost always pick liberal or democratic polices over conservative ones if they are not told that they are liberal policies in advance.
Progressives are responsible for nearly every benefit that the working class enjoys today from the 40 hour week to safer work conditions to unemployment benefits.
prove me wrong

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid
I agree lendmefight2. Look at Social Security also. Now, the Tea Party wants to take everything back before FDR's reforms. We would have been further ahead in the recovery, if we would have had WPA type programs. Such as to clean up our inner cities and infrastructuries.
Energy programs could also been way ahead. How else are going to do this, unless it is a form of socialism?

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid
And the Repubs freed the slaves; sure a long time ago and in some instances a long long long time ago there was a need for such policies but as in anything to much of it becomes bad.
You say Republicans/Conserv are for the rich, Democrats/Liberals or Progress (whatever the marketing name of the day is) are for the poor,
fine I will cede you that point, but in doing so logic dictates that for either side to get more voters they have to make more of who they are for......I think that pretty much sums it up.
As for why when a policy is identified as liberal Americans are then against it is simply because like a bad brand of similar products Americans are consumers and learn very quick products that look good and promising vs. others that through experience are knew to be of poor quality, and that brand never quite delivers what it advertises and generally ends up costing more.

There are a couple things you take for granted in this post.
First if republicans are for the rich and to win have to make more people rich, then why are there not more rich people? The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, all evidence shows this.
Second, your analysis of why most Americans are against liberals is a little off mark I think.
The reason that most Americans seem to be anti-liberal is really not because of social issues. Liberals, as a brand name, do poorly because they are not inherently what Americans think America should be, not because Americans do not like the "quality of the product". Americans LOOOOVE John Wayne. Liberals don't act like John Wayne. Americans think they want someone to "go out there and kick ass" and liberals aren't really outspoken about it and seem to have forgotten how. I believe this has to do with how frustrated most people feel, and have always felt, about their lives. I could give many examples in popular culture of this being true. However, when people are polled, they overwhelmingly choose liberal ideas over conservative ones if they are not told in advance that the ideas are liberal.
Thirdly, freeing the slaves is the best example you can come up with for how your party has contributed in a positive way to this nation? That was a really long time ago. Your party has changed A LOT since then. I could go back only as far as Eisenhower to find something positive for the republican party. Furthermore, Reagan was way too conservative for me and his policies really started the decline we are in now. However, if Reagan were to run today he would not pass the primary because he would be too liberal. That should scare the crap out of you regarding where your party is going.
