Via ThinkProgress, if you've been thinking lately we have a do-nothing Congress, and particularly Senate, you're right. They're not doing anything has set a recent record:

I'm beginning to wonder if we should be asking Amnesty International for help. I do think we should find a way to banish political parties altogether. They do nothing but promote corruption and obstruct justice.

I had that though a while back couth. Not that they could help us all financially, but the "awareness" that would come would be beneficial.

They'd be worth a tweet, anyway. Maybe some other human rights groups, too. But really: If there are too few jobs for the number of job hunters, human resources can openly refuse to hire the jobless, the homeless, and the older workers, job hunters no longer qualify for benefits, running out of money trying to survive is the norm, AND it is becoming illegal to feed the homeless AND there are too many of us for the existing shelters AND the ways and means committee is ignoring HR 589- not even trying to FIND a way to make it work- how is this not an attempt at genocide?
The answer to our question of how do they expect us to survive is that they don't.

I like the idea of voting on cartoon characters. We could get rid of political parties altogether. When voting time comes around, we could click on a character to see their voting track record and ideas. Then we could vote on it and whoever it represents. No political parties, no lobbyists, and anyone really could become president/congress person/ political figure....

If that is your idea of humor, it was priceless. Whatelse can you think up, you might be able to make a living from this. Jay's writers need to move on sometime, you know.

@disgusted,
My brain is a scary, but clean place to be- humor, maybe, but I really do believe in banishing political parties. I have no idea who Jay is, but I can say in all honesty that most of what I write goes unread. My blogs are commentless, my xomba account has 2 followers who follow me probably because they're trying to save my soul. Thanks for the compliment though!
