Virginia Extended Benefits Triggered Off. Can this be challenged?
How is Virginia doing so well when the Nation is above 9%? I noticed that the source of the statistics used was VEC and not an independant agency such as the payroll company ADP. Can this be challenged?
In March of 2011 VEC sent out extended benefit statement saying that I had 10 days to fill out the form or loose my benefits. It arrived in my mail box three days before the cancellation would take effect. I wonder how many lost their benefits as a result. Then by triggering off benefits another 6,000 people lost benefits. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what appears to be going on. If Virginia is doing so well (much better than the rest of the country)why can't we find the jobs that are suppose to be in abundance. Does anyone believe that unemployment is really below 6% in Virginia? We need an independant assessment of the real unemployment population.

According to the US DOL - Bureau of Labor Statistics, Virginia's current unemployment rate is 6.1%, one of the lowest in the country right now. The BLS determines the national and state ue rates monthly based on several factors. I seriously doubt that it could be challenged.
Here are some links to the BLS:

The DOL BLS is scheduled to release the new data for state ue rates on June 17 at 10:00 a.m.

On a solid note, at least we seem to now have definitive stats on the amount of unemployment rate after todays committee hearing, as they shared several numbers that provide factual evidence, while being a private player and no government affiliation.

The fuzzy math is everywhere! No one believes the numbers anymore and haven't for a long time.
