parking ticket from 2007
I received a notice in the mail. We have an outstanding parking ticket for $25.00 from 2007. The ticket is now $105.00. If they don't get the $$$ within 30 dqys they wll boot and or tow.
The car is paid off, but we only have $200.00 to our name.
Since when do they tow a car for $25.00 ????? Also what proof do I or they that I was actually parked on that street?

Re: parking ticket from 2007
Sounds a little steep.....I live in Ohio Cuyahoga County
You are allowed three tickets before they put a hold on your license
plate renewal (yearly)
I owed about 600$ for multiple tickets + collection agency fees..
The city accepted half down with monthly payments..
I don't believe they ever threatened to tow the vehicle (unless it was in the act of another parking offence)
Check your municipal laws most probably listed on a website somewhere

Re: parking ticket from 2007
They can and will boot your car. I don't know if they can tow it. The late fee's on tickets are steep and it seems to me that you are getting off pretty easy. In my experience tickets double, close to it, if they are past the 30 day due date. That would make yours $50 and then it probably went up from there.
I would call them to see if you can set something up to keep your car from being towed. Or you could hide your car and tag really well.
I don't think they will come to your house unless you live in the city limits and park on the street.

Call them! In some states they can put a warrant out for your arrest for overdue parking tickets!
Every so often here in RI, the state police conduct early morning "raids" for people with outstanding parking tickets who have had bench warrants put out on them. The fine will be even steeper if you let this go!
