My old company has ad in paper
So naturally I applied. And called and have not heard back from them. Left message on their voicemail.
I was surprised after two years to see an ad for the company I last worked for. Its been two long years of unemployment and no job in site so far.
Even after interviews.
So I had hoped to get a response from them and have not.
Sigh!

If you leave on good terms. I would stop by and ask to speak to someone. In your case you need to be more proactive. Don't nag or beg, just let them know your available. Most employers have had it tough. Don't be disappointed, unless you had a contract they don't have to rehire.

I support that. The one thing I would consider is how you were treated when you were there. I have worked for companies where the management made up false complaints just to terminate my employment. However, the only way I would consider working for previous employers, where I had an issue with a manager, is if they no longer worked for the company.
I would weigh all options but if you have an amicable relationship with your previous employer, I would actually show up and ask to speak to one of the managers or HR personal and ask about your application.

I had a good relationship with previous employer. In fact when I as laid off it was originally only supposed to be for four months then I was to go back. Then things turned and I never got the call back since no one was buying. I liked the job and the people and there were no complaints about me.

That's cool ... glad to hear it. Wish ya luck on getting your job back but I would do what's been suggested here.

I called a few times and left messages. Never got a call back so I'm moving on. I tried.

Don't just call. Visit the company and ask to speak to your old boss in person. Don't give up.

He's gone. They either laid him off or let him go. New manager is there now.
