MA & RI State Unemployment Rates Drop to Lowest in almost 2 years
R.I. jobless rate dips below 11% - MA to 7.8%
For the fourth month in a row, Rhode Island’s unemployment rate dipped slightly in April to 10.9 percent, the first time in 21 months it has fallen below 11 percent.
“We’ve become what the national economy is doing,” Lardaro said. “The unemployed are dropping out of the labor force, and that’s what’s causing the unemployment rate to fall. So you get a better number, but it’s not necessarily cause for celebration.”
In Massachusetts, the unemployment rate for April dropped to 7.8 percent, according to the state’s Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The national unemployment rate was 9.0 percent.

I am glad that someone in the state recognizes that the growing number of 99ers accounts for this slight drop. Thank you, Professor Lardaro for bringing this to light!

and that is why the president isnt campaigning for the 99ers it will drive unemployment numbers up....and his approval numbers for the economy down...like one of the articles stated a few days ago, the 99ers and unemployed are the elephant in the room....usually the gop plays the game and I am surprised they are not for adding 14 additional weeks it would play well in their campaign that unemployment has not gone down, but the only way to do it is to get the 99ers back on the roles of unemployment...maybe next week...

Complete hogwash. Everyone knows this is BS. The admittance it's folks falling off the books should be a cause formJor concern. Yet no one but the CBC and a select few others seem to care.
