Congrats to GethemInNovember!

First topic message reminder :
Just wanted to share with you that GethemInNovember is going back to work next week after a horrible bout of unemployment.
Gethem has been a strong advocator for the unemployed for a long time and a very valuable member of our community.
Join me in thanking him for all his hard work as well as congratulating him on his new venture!

Thanks again folks, I hope I was able to make some of ya laugh along the way. It really has been a crazy year.
One good thing I will be able to talk to people in the workplace and get the truth of what is happening in this country. Fact is there are not enough jobs and older workers are being overlooked.
I have to go spend all of my food stamps now because next week will be too late.

Thanks and it is kind of like being reborn. My boss is 10 years younger than how weird HUH?
I have not seen a real paycheck in my name since March 08
Worse part is I get paid every two weeks and they hold the first check so it will stll be another month until I get paid. 
By that time I might be able to splurge on a pack of gum. Maybe by my third check I can sit down and have someone serve me a beer. Its been so long my butt misses the bar stool.

I was actually fired for being late. I lived near a river that flooded and had to take the long way around. My employer was a dick to begin with and wanted to hire someone for less and used it as an excuse. I did the over the phone appeal and I won. I waited 3 months for the money. That was a very happy day. I got 12 checks on one day
I also took him to court for firing me under BS conditions and won another 300. He hired a lawyer and had tp pay one of his workers to testify. The lawyer was late and when he asked me why I was late I threw it back in his face. I also had the newspaper from that day and on the front page was the house I lived in and it showed the roads were flooded. I beat them all.

I did 250 hours of internship there so I know what to expect. Its going to be hard to sleep tonight. I will be worried about oversleeping.

According to the ue status in your profile, you don't need to work! Good for you though! I can't even imagine having the energy and stamina to work at your age!

Get them, remember all the hell you raised the past 18 mos. that will be missed! But better to have a job than have to raise hell over being unemployed!!! Good Luck!!!
