You said a mouthful mistermunster. Of course, if mabell was the only one to exist, cell, cable, internet would be all under one company and who knows where that would lead. No sense looking back. Need to move forward and get the JOBS we need.

The problem with conglomerating is that LESS jobs will be available as they will look to their "BOTTOM LINE", Do the existing business with less people now being under ONE banner. But MORE individual business' require MORE people to work them. Not so if ONE or a few hold all the cards.

Not to mention they can charge whatever they want. You have no choice but to pay.
Everyone with a cell phone should take them and smash them all at once. Before they do text the company the middle finger first.

So now there are essentially only three mobile phone companies?
Att&T, Sprint, and Verizon?

And cricket, although they don't really count. The big ones are buying up smaller cell companies. Sprint now has Boostmobile for instance.

Doesn't cricket just use the towers of one of the larger companies? There is a company called clear but they just use sprint's service I think.

You know, I went online recently and looked for the answer to the shells. I wasn't satisfied with what I found...

It seems to me corporations want to privatize the profits and socialize the risk. Its WIN WIN for them.

Re: Corporations won't be satisfied until....
You can all thank the 1996 Telecommunications Act for this. That act allowed communication comanies to do things like this. That act destroyed broadcasting and why so many broadcasting veterans no longer work in the field. It's why I had to give up the dream I had since 3 of working in radio, a dream that crushed me to give up.

Re: Corporations won't be satisfied until....
That's the bad about what's called "capitalism" - but what's really "corporatism" (when you're using the nice word for it). An insatiable hunger for getting more and more and more, and no care whatsoever about the destruction to human lives, the environment, and so on. They truly won't be satisfied until the whole world is ruined.
I'm all for capitalism, when it stays just regulated enough to remain the small and medium sized outfits that are a benefit to and part of their local communities (human, environmental, and so on). Does the whole thing have to crash before people wake up and start re-making what really works?
