2011 Unemployment Extension - 99ers Must Overcome Obstacles
Depression and poverty. These are the two key elements that define the plight of millions of America's 99ers today. Too depressed to continue to put forth concerted efforts to fight the lack of public acknowledgement for this national disaster, and too poor to fund any concentrated effort to improve the media attention given to this crisis. This is the proverbial "stuck between a rock and a hard place" that millions of 99ers face in today's political environment.

Trying to get things done, but can't bring anything constructive to the House Floor because the GOP has better things to do like defund NPR and make "In God We Trust" our National Motto.

Who said 589 was a done deal? Its not even out of committee yet, however that doesnt mean its dead.
I can understand your frustration 1208 but these things don't happen over night.
I know you lean to the right, but where is the job creation bills from the GOP, or any help for the unemployed? That's right, there is NONE at all.
Lets not smash the hopes of those of us just trying to hang on to a hope and a prayer.
Have you contacted your reps today? Every voice and email etc is ONE more than we had.

Re: 2011 Unemployment Extension - 99ers Must Overcome Obstacles
H.R. 589 was never a done deal. The reason why everybody thinks so is simply because Rep. Lee, forgive me for saying this, tried to pull a fast one on voters to make it look like she did.
What happened was that she originally introduced the bill to the House Ways and Means Committee. Then, when the Short Term CR came up for debate, she tried to attach the bill to the CR and she ended up violating House Rules when it came to attaching amendments to the bill and her amendment was a spending amendment. Instead, she kept bringing it up, wasting more valuable time that 99ers simply do not have.
Now, with the CR passed, the bill still sits, unmoved, in the House Ways and Means Committee. While I can't say for certain, I can almost guarantee that there will be no movement on this bill until the next budget debate begins and she'll attempt to attach it to that budget plan as well, wasting even more time.
I don't think I'm alone in this thinking that Rep. Lee (God bless her for introducing the bill on February 9th) that she seems to be just dragging all of us along for the ride when she needs to find offsets for the bill. She doesn't need the White House or the Obama Administration to find alternatives for the payfors. Not only that, But I have a hard time believing that the White House is helping her with the payfors since the Obama Administration hasn't said "WORD ONE" about anything having to do with unemployment benefits for any type of Tier 5 or H.R. 589 for the 99ers.
Now? They are off all next week, which means we get another week of Congress doing absolutely nothing. I would just like to know what they're waiting for. The longer they take to move this along and more it's looking like a snow job to the unemployed. What Tier 1-4 unemployed don't realize is that they, too, would benefit if H.R. 589 were passed.
We need ACTION. What we don't need are "SOUND BITES".

Just keep posting, we would rather not post that information. Troublemaking Trolls and Posers read the public forums.

Lean left, right, forward ,backward or upsidedown that stuff makes no difference to me anymore. When the Dems had the majority and didn't pass an extension for the 99'rs at the end of there reign I lost what little respect I have for any party and I use the term party loosely because I have come to the conclusion that they are all for big buisness,re-election and lineing there pockets.LMAO party for the people........There is no such d*** thing anymore......Completely and uterly discusted.
