Fed Ed Date- Cancel Question Empty Fed Ed Date- Cancel Question

Post by Jeremy90405 Thu Oct 20, 2011 7:54 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am new here, and this website is totally wonderful and quite the resource.

I have been looking around for this answer, however I could not find it.

Here is my question: I will start the Fed Ed extension in CA in the middle of November. Will I be able to receive all 20 weeks even when it goes past the January 1st, 2012? Can I collect up to March 2012 once the 20 weeks are up?
I realize all of the other tier extension will allow this, however I remember last year, Fed Ed stopped soon after the extension date.

Thank you for any and all feedback. Everyone on this site is great!

There are only a few states that will continue EB benefits once the federal extension expires. If it stopped last November while waiting for Congress to pass 4213 reauthorizing 13 more months, most likely, it will end at the same time the fed programs do. Hopefully, someone from CA can give you a definite answer.

Good luck to you! Let's hope Congress acts fast and doesn't put millions of people in this situation.
