Just got a letter from CA EDD...what's it mean?

I've just hit the one year mark on unemployment from the State of California. Yesterday I got a letter stating that benefits cannot be paid on a new claim unless I had earnings for the period right after I was layed off. Are they going to cut me off or will I be getting the next extension from the Federal Government? I would guess that this is just a form letter that's the States way of letting me know that I'm not going to be entitled to a whole new claim. Your feedback is appreciated.

I believe on on tier 3...meaning I opened the claim and have had two extensions since. Thanks

You will not be cut off. You will be able to continue through all tiers, you should still have tier 4 which is 6 weeks and the separate FED-ED extension of 20 weeks. That would then total the 99 weeks available. After that you will no longer be eligible for UI Benefits, as you would then have exhausted all benefits allowed.
As far as the letter you received, that was just standard paperwork because your original claim date reached a year from the date you first applied.

Thanks Exhausted! That's what I suspected, but it did put a scare into me. I do have a job interview this afternoon, but there are no guarantees on this one. Thanks again, that takes a lot of stress off me.
