Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
"This unemployment crisis is part of what I call the Obama Misery Index, and it’s why my view is this man is going to get tossed from office," Romney said Monday evening on Fox News. "He's a nice guy, but he just doesn’t understand what it takes to get the economy going to make America competitive globally, to rein in the size of the federal government, and to allow the American spirit of entrepreneurialism and innovation put Americans back to work."
Romney's stressed his experience as a business executive and governor in his second try for the Republican nomination, following a failed bid in 2008.

I do think if the economy is terrible in 2012 Obama will likely get voted out, but I doubt a Republican can do better either.

Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
The only thing that might cost Obama a second term is the unemployment rate, Romney sure as hell won't do it.
There is no republican running now that can beat him. Pawlenty could have if he didn't constantly tell all those terrible jokes all the time. I thought he was going to come out like Reagan but he came out like Jerry Lewis.
An interesting note for people who are history challenged, when Reagan ran for re-election in 1984 the unemployment rate was still between 7 and 8%. He had a 50% disapproval rating up until the final months and he STILL won re-election.
That recession wasn't as bad as this so 8% unemployment going into 2012 won't hurt Obama that bad.

And who would you suggest replace him? Ask anyone from MA what Romney did for that state!

Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
I don't know of any GOP candidate that could beat him. Now Hillary is another story.
Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
Hilary COULD beat him and probably would. She won't run, I truly believe that the family is sick of being in politics.
My dad heard something a few months ago that I didn't believe. He said that he heard Bill Clinton, in an interview, say that their would be a Clinton on the ballet in 2012. I am thinking that they will try and talk Hilary into being the vice presidential candidate or maybe that Chelsea will run for a lower level seat maybe.

That's the strategy - don't introduce any jobs legislation and then blame high unemployment on Obama.
Where's the jobs that were promised last year when the Wealthy got their tax breaks?

I was rooting for Hilary before Obama came into the picture. I was actually very upset that she had to back down. I think she would of been great. I wish she would run again.

I actually think Chelsea will run for politics soon, perhaps as congress person.

Amazing the repubs. in office since Jan and yes the tax cuts implemented in Dec, and we are asking about job creation but yet Obama kept saying he inherited this for 3.5 yrs. and it worked.

Could you repeat that? Not quite sure what you meant. Obama hasn't been in office for 3.5 years, just a little over 2.

Yeah we should give them 8 years like it took for Reagan to get the unemployment rate down to a reasonable rate right?
You guys are great at turning everything around unfortunately none of the republican arguments make any sense.
There were no tax cuts in December, the tax rates remained they same as they have throughout the Bush years. They didn't create jobs then and they won't create jobs now.

Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
I was a repub. but at this point there isn't anyone who could run with the right stuff. Palin and Bachman is a dressed up joke and they would assure Obama winning. he should encourage both of them to run. Nute is a stupid pompous egoist and reminds me of a drunk who just sobered up who doesn't stand a chance. The only one's who stand a chance is Palenty or Romney, but the Repub. usually screw up everything when they nominate their candidates. But I hope Hillary runs. But I think Obama will do everything to sabotage her from running. But I am not a dem. but to be honest Hillary is weathered and experienced and also not afraid to make a leadership decision. But she shows me she is willing to weigh things before she takes a firm stand on critical issues. She has carried Obama through his lack of courage in making strong decisions.I want her to run, but America as usual will get caught up in fairy tails as usual and then after they reelect Obama will look mid term and say "what happened" ??. Go Hillary, I say!!!

Might as well Obama will have 8 yrs to be a complete failure!

Take Obama 's speeches to the store and buy groceries or buy gas or even look for a job and say you voted for Obama. That will work everytime!

Sorry, as long as the GOP says NO to everything, nothing is going to get done and it will not be the President's fault. Even Boehner is coming around and realizing their strategy is going to put Pelosi back in the position of Speaker of the House in 2012!
Obama's policies have not failed - the GOP has failed the American people miserably and continue to do so with their ridiculous budget proposals!

Bottom line is! This country is very messed up from both sides in office and its going to take someone strong to bring us back. At this point there isn't anyone strong enough to do that!

Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
The topic here is the unemployment numbers and it is very hypocritical of Mitt Romney to criticize the President on that when he was a one term Governor in MA, instituted mandatory health insurance, ran the state like a business and left the position with a high unemployment rate and job losses by the thousands!

Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
Yeah, Romney definitely cost jobs for the state of Mass, and now he has the gall to say Obama hasn't brought the unemployment rate down enough. If Obama would just stand up and be a progressive he would have no doubts about re-election. There are certainly no republicans that can beat him. Trump can't and he won't run. Trump will end up bashing all the other republican candidates to point that everyone thinks that they are a joke and then he will drop out of the race.
I will give Trump one thing, he has that John Wayne thing that Americans love.
Americans don't really care about policy they just want a president who says he will "kick the crap" out of everyone. We are very divorced from reality in this day and age.

I agree, but Im willing to give Obama another chance, Im sure hell get better as time goes on. Not many presidents were very successful 1/2 way through the 1st term.
Re: Romney: Unemployment will get Obama 'tossed from office'
Including Reagan.
This is another republican tactic, "both sides suck so let's go with my guy".
Yeah, right.
Obama only has two problems.
1) He is trying to be bi-partisan
2) People like Tim Geitner.
He needs to get rid of people that tell him lowering tax rates on millionaires is a good idea. This is Geitner's plan. He is a corporate shill and needs to be replaced.
