Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO stated that raising taxes, including gasoline taxes, will create jobs. How can they even consider raising taxes on fuel when the price of a gallon of gas is going to double in the coming months? I like Trumka, but his thoughts on this have me really confused. confused

Makes total sense. How else are you going to raise the extra funds to create jobs.

Cutting taxes does not create jobs, you only cut when the economy is booming. What they need to do is cutback in defense spending and end the Wars.

I agree, TR, but raising the tax on fuel prices is going to hurt the average working class person, not to mention devastating the poor. The only ones that get any tax relief in this country are the rich. Time to increase their taxes rather than cut them!
