UFF 2.0 Letter to Rep Dave Camp and House Ways and Means.

Post by Guest on Wed May 11, 2011 12:01 pm

We have drafted a letter to send to Dave Camp and the members of the House ways and Means Committee. Copy and paste, sign and fax it to them ASAP!! Please feel free to adjust it as you see fit.

Dear David Camp & Members of The House Ways & Means Committee,

We as citizens of the United States of America, are deeply disturbed with your new bill H.R.1745, which would gut Unemployment Benefits and put tiers 1-4 in jeopardy. In a better economy, this bill would be acceptable. However, the Unemployment rate is relentlessly high at 9% and passing this bill would be destructive and harm millions of those who have been unemployed through no fault of their own. More will become homeless and hungry. We need to add more benefits, not take them away.

We demand that Congress stop this political posturing and do whats best for the American people and the economy. Keeping benefits going and possibly adding more weeks as H.R.589 does would spur the economy and keep millions from living in the streets.

As you already know, there are currently an estimated 3 million jobs available for more than 15 million unemployed Americans. That should be sufficient enough proof that we need to keep the unemployment benefits system we have in tact and for adding more benefits. How can Congress honestly let fellow Americans suffer? It is inhumane and unacceptable.
