Claim Expiration
Hello Friends 2.0
I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with a small question. I am told by MA DUA that my claim expires on June 4th, 2011 which is a Saturday. Does this mean that I can file on June 5th, Sunday for the week of June 4th?
Or does this mean that my last check will come for the week of May 28th?
Just trying to figure out when my last check will be. This is so confusing.
Any help would be awesome.
Also, I may be eligible to continue on Tier 2 but I worked a small part time job and made roughly $3950 during the past year (which I quit because it just wasn't worth the commute at 7.25 and hour, plus gasoline. I barely brought home anything. Not sure if because I quit, UI will disqualify me from going on past my expiration date on to Tier 3 or if the $3950 is enough to open a new claim? Any assistance here on what to expect would be awesome too. --- The good news is I have a pretty good shot for a job that starts in July. It's not confirmed but it's VERY HOPEFUL!
Happy Mothers day to all the moms!
Thanks!

Re: Claim Expiration
1st off welcome to the forum, 2ndly you may have an issue considering you quit your last job. You will have to call them and they will ask you questions regarding if you worked at all during the past year. They will want names and addresses etc ust like when you 1st opened the claim. If all goes well you will continue on with your tiers from where you left off. I dont think 3950 is enough to get you a new claim. Actually you better hope not or your pay will be slashed hugely.
Best of luck.

Re: Claim Expiration
Thank you for the speedy reply. You know what will be, will be.
When my claim expires on June 4th, I'll just call and meet my fate. I'll be sure to post the outcome on the forum. You never know, it may help someone out.
Do you have any idea about my first question?
My claim expires on June 4th, Saturday. Does that mean that I still get to file on Sunday and have a check on Monday?

Re: Claim Expiration
That may be your BYE date. You will have to call, answer a few questions and be able to certify after that. It may delay your benefit payment for a few days to a week.
Good Luck!
