Help!!
Well guys, I remember when I was posting on this forum a few months back asking about if i was going to get approved for unemployment which i did.. I moved to Maine and there are NO jobs here.. So looking at my benefits I think I have $4,653.00 which i collected 473 without taxes taken out.. My questions are:
1)how do I know if I can get an extension when it runs out?
2)I was a manager at mcdonalds when i was younger making 11 an hour in Rhode Island. I went there today and filed out w2 paper work and an application and they hired me on he spot but a crew position in maine is 8 dollars an hour which they only told me afterwards.. online stated 11 an hour.... so i think im just going to stay collecting because now im making 12 an hour.. but isnt it possible to work part time and still collect?
3) Do you get unemployment if you take a job making less than what you are collecting for? My unemployment runs out pretty soon.. any suggestions? Any feedback would be helpful.. Im just worried now that they got my w2 info ill loose my benefits but if i dont show up i think ill be fine??
Thanks

I would call to ask the unemployment commission what they think. You should be able to collect part of your benefits if the benefit amount is less than what you make in a week. However, it is more than minimum wage so they may cut you out altogether.
You are in a tough spot.
Call them and ask. Have you signed any paperwork for the job yet?

Re: Help!!
I just filled out w2 form and put 0..but after thinking about it..its not worth it.. I think mass law states I don't have to accept job if its under what I'm collecting so ill call tomorrow and just let them know it isn't enough with only me working..suggestions?

Re: Help!!
I don't think you can turn down any job you apply for and actually get. If I were you, I would be thankful for anything I could get. 99 weeks are not guaranteed. MA does not even have a Tier 4 anymore and could be next on the list of states to stop EB.
I think what you are referring to is that the Unemployment Office cannot refer you to a job that pays significantly less. Once you apply on your own, you have to take it.
Never say "I make more on unemployment". Take if from someone who has been out of work for over 3 years, count your blessings you have a job offer.
