Sadly that is so true about many churches.
There are a few like Fred Jordan's mission in Los Angeles that are sincere.
And help many.
They feed the homeless every Holiday and have been doing it for years.
Fred Jordan who passed away a few years ago once was homeless himself. Now his son and wife carry on the tradition were he left off, caring for those who are mostly forgotten, the lonely souls on the streets of Los Angeles.

Jesus would be disgusted because he was for helping those in need. He was a real Christian not one of those fake ones who use religion to rip off people.

A sad commentary, that is true for too many, but thankfully there are still those folks who still do follow Christ's teachings on a daily basis.

Actually he was born & raised an observant Jew. His followers became Christians, but I know what you meant. Wink

Of course he was born a Jew, but of course became the messiah (the real one, not the one the tea party claims is one). Jesus would be disgusted with the world and how it's become.

So very sad. I've heard of homeless folks who don't trust the local churches at all. The churches run ads to let us all know that they are actively helping the homeless all the time, but when the homeless go there, they are turned away. Just like some sort of marketing program.

Churches are turning away people? That's sad. I've heard that some churches are judging people about why they are asking for help and that I find wrong.
