First topic message reminder :

Yes we are all feeling like HR589 doesnt have a chance, based on our past experience and long wait for a hand up. We have to trust in Mr. G, and keep forging on. they are now asking that we contact our senators asap, it appears that the house passed legislation to cut $60 billion plus from federal programs on saturday, it is now on to the senate. This may be our chance contact your senators and request that any compromises made to this $60billion cut legislation include the passage of HR589. Tell them your story...Tell them as a constituent that you are asking for their help, not a hand out, a hand up, the unemployed and the 99ers have been living the great depression for over 3 years..

Contact your senator and tell them to include HR589 with the legislation to cut the $60billion plus from federal programs...If they need to compromise, then help those that have been out of work for 3 years and havent had a helping hand for almost one year...they are losing their homes, their lifes, when will they pay attention.

Contact your house rep tell them to co sponsor HR 589 and get it out of committee..contact Boehner, Cantor etc...but more importantly contact your state rep.

Yes we are feeling hopeless, but as long as there is hope, shame on us for not continuing to try to get this passed..think of those that are worse off than ourselves, those that are not here with us and therefore dont have a voice, those that have just given up completely and have lost everything..if we can save just one other than our selves, it will be worth our time and effort...No one said this would be easy. Unemployment is easy but we are living it...The people of egypt spoke up, the people in WI are speaking up, the 99ers need to speak up...there might not be many of us here on this or other sites, but that only means that you have to double and triple your efforts...we need to get this out of committee, once it is out watch how many followers we then have...so dont feel your efforts are for nothing

done. Hitting the Governors. I am not sure if cspan will cover this or not, they covered the mayors. It was worth watching. Funny how the mayors could be serious, discuss real topics (not lightbulbs) and still have a sense of humor with one another regardless of party. If they do replay any of it, it is long but worth watching not just for the topics and solutions, but for the true bi-partisanship. 99ers need your help today tommorrow and until HR589 is passed-*3/11/11 *Updated list of Co-Sponsors - Page 2 780423 to the city Mayors who can meet and discuss topics that their constituents really care about, whether we all agree or not, it was presented in ways that we could really see both sides.

Is there any realistic chance there will be any action on this bill next week?

99ers need your help today tommorrow and until HR589 is passed-*3/11/11 *Updated list of Co-Sponsors - Page 2 489419 Hi nutty! I'm not sure if anything will happen next week, other than picking up more sponsors, due to the threatened government shut down.

I think it is very encouraging that 589 picked up two more sponsors while they were on break and I don't think this group of Representatives are going to let this slide. Also, testimony from the Ways & Means subcommittee hearing on Feb. 10 is beginning to be published and so far, it looks good. Here is a link to the testimony from one of the expert witnesses:

https://unemployed-friends.forumotion.com/t274-w-m-committee-testimony-from-feb-10-hearing-from-heather-boushey-senior-economist

Also, the impact that the potential government shut down will have on the economy will be in our favor, IMO.

Woa! LOL. I advocate the Teaparty today because, lets face it. My 99'rs from two years ago has gotten no relief from this Administration. I fought for extensions then and am today a 99r. So it aint working because States are so broke. BTW, non of them are for Unemployment extensions.
