I have finally reached the end of my rope
First topic message reminder :
I have been laid off for almost 2 years, I have sent my resume to everything and anything that is hiring.
I have applied to Navel Civilian jobs to get no where.
These companies are NOT hiring, I have seen jobs posted for the past 6 months, the same jobs.
I have been beaten down....ALL I can say is "I've Tried my damdest to find a job"
There are days I just want to walk in front of a semi and call it a day.

OP, I think we all understand how you feel. It is an extremely frustrating feeling not landing a job, being broke makes it even worse.
I also have send out many resumes and applications and never even get a call back.

Re: I have finally reached the end of my rope
It's rough all around. I finally applied for Food Stamps and Medical (California). I have no choice or I will starve. My job was outsourced to Mumbai (had to train the man) and no job 2009. I am a secretary for over 20 years and those jobs are gone. So Unemployment Office said to change careers, so I did! Best thing I've done. Medical Billing & Coding I am now, and almost finished the course. I even have a job waiting for me from local hospital. Told gal how I'm gonna have experience if you don't give me a job! She chuckled and said that's right. Said, "When you are done with your courses give me a call!" Finished a test with the local county job, who cares, if I get a job it's a job until I finish the medical courses.
You have to have an open mind. Don't ever give up! Change careers if you have to. You are still breathing, so you can keep learning. Don't be stubborn like me...I had to change when I couldn't find a job in 6 months!
You can do it! I'm 55 and starting all over again -- it's exciting. But it's your attitude which makes all the difference.
I know you can do it. I can and I'm trying so hard to remember all this stuff.

Re: I have finally reached the end of my rope
Don't lose hope. It's the same for all of us. Many applications and resumes and we're all still here. It's an employers market and sadly there are some who will not hire the unemployed. Keep trying and keep advocating for change. We will get Jobs and hopefully, we will change the way the world looks at the unemployed while doing it.

Yeah like I've mentioned, being broke (zero income) makes this frustration even worse.

It does make it hard rubeNG, but we are all here for you when it does. We all feel it, not making light of it, some days are worse than others for all of us. But, we are here when you need. Don't give up. We are all committed to keeping up the fight, if you are having a bad day, take a breather and come back. Just stay with us. We need you.

A reply I received...
Of course I read the the description of the position... Why do these companies act so pricky? I KNOW IT IS A EMPLOYER MARKET BUT still there has to be a level of professionalism no matter what..
The reply I received, scroll down to see my email to this company:
"Did you read through the job description on our site? Please if not, please do and apply on our website as directed, then apply via mail to the company as directed from our ad. I will send it along to my contact via email but they wanted it mailed to HR (my contact heads up IT) with cover letter and 3 references as directed on our ad."
My email to them replying to a JOB Posted with the HR direct email:
To: K***********
I am interested in the current opening and have enclosed my CV.
Given an opportunity, I will try to exceed the expectations of the position.
Thank You
