Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami on going after shocks and Tsunami warnings.
First topic message reminder :
This is an actual report, and it a separate topic than the political topic in the "Politics" forum.
I've heard back from one of the members on my website who lives in Tokyo, Japan and he's reporting that Tokyo is doing fine. They didn't suffer any real damage. Apparently, the real damage from the Earthquake took place in Sendai. The deaths were a result of the tsunami that hit Japan as a result of the Earthquake and that the deaths were not caused by the Earthquake itself.
Do NOT post about the unemployment issue in this topic. There already exists a topic for that issue in the Politics forum.
Please only post your condolences, support and prayers for the Japanese people.
UPDATE: Rather than continuously updating the topic title, it has edited one last time to reflect everything involving the earthquake and tsunami.

Reactor 4 I feel is going to meltdown. So no matter what the radiation levels in that area are a death sentence.

This isn't surprising. Anyone coming from Japan should be quarantined until they can be de-contaminated ... so as to safeguard the American People. Japan would do the same if the roles were reversed.

Amid all the the horrors there is the touching story of two dog friends that somehow survived the tsunami. Although one is injured. I saw the video on TV and wondered what happened to them. The following link has a link to the Facebook page too.

I saw that on the news yesterday. What a great story! There is a lot we can learn from "man's best friend"!

I saw it on TV too and at that time there was no mention of what happened! They were rescued. There will be updates on the Facebook page.

The nuclear crisis level n Japan was just risen to a 5, this is 3 mile island level. Level 7 is the highest and thats a full meltdown like Chernobyl..

In the Senate today, Rand Paul of KY, introduced a deficit elimination bill that would shut down the Department of Energy, which oversees the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

I don't understand his reasoning in light of what is going on in Japan.

well Gaddafi's sandbox seems to be getting TOP billing in the news now. Guess the parasites in the media are bored with Japan. and only a week has lapsed. Guess no blood or looting in Japan, the nuke cloud has been downplayed so they are OUT to find blood and violence to blab to the world about.

Im surprised at the level of coverage now from japan. Its far greater issue to me than Libya etc. Just my opinion of course.

Re: Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami on going after shocks and Tsunami warnings.
I heard on CNN that the core and rods need to cool down before they can be covered.mistermunster wrote:well if it hits the Aleutian Islands on Thursday, the radiation detectors should give us advance warning on the amount of radiation there is. The QUESTION is WILL the FEDERAL GOV report this INFORMATION???Downplay it, or WHAT???
Now with that said, I do feel that that reactor will melt down and you can kiss the north of Japan goodbye. They should have been dumping borite and concrete on it DAYS ago to contain it. Its a lost cause by all accounts so far.

Since Sendai has been our Sister City since the 1950s, we have sent fire and rescue folks over, as well as collecting money and supplies.
Beginning tonight, our historic Mission Inn and City Hall will be lit with blue lights in solidarity with Sendai. The Mission Inn bells will ring every day at 2:46 p.m. (earthquake) and again 15 minutes later when the tsunami hit...

Re: Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami on going after shocks and Tsunami warnings.
I just logged back in for a minute to post some good news about Japan. Apparently, the News Media, which involves all of the major networks, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, ABC News, NBC News, CBS News and every other network has been deliberately hyping up the nuclear threat so much that they are misreporting the news.
Someone on my site posted the following video which is an eyewitness account from someone who has been living in Japan for the past 10 years. The video is 16 minutes long and I'm pleading with everyone to watch the video in its entirety and not skip through any of it. It really is very detailed and he goes on about what really is going on:

Sad American I am proud of your city for helping the sister city of Sendai. Those people need all the help they can get and then some.
