Re: 3/15/11 **Update on HR 589** 75 Co-Sponsors!!!
This is a piece of what I posted elsewhere. Looks like we're all thinking alike...
I'm sure glad to see this question. I hope we can get back to business as "normal" without all these side issues.
I agree, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
I hope something magical is because quite honestly, by now, our good Senator Lee should have voiced some concern over problems being encountered. Otherwise I'm hoping she is indeed heads down on this issue with a most promising outcome soon to come.
I'm very grateful for Senator Lee's fortitude and support, but I hope after
this length of silence the news is good. Otherwise anything other than
"good" is going to be like a KO punch psychologically for those of us
who fear every tomorrow right now.

Start contacting the Reps from the states I listed above. They are Republican Reps from the states with the highest unemployment rates. Email them and see what kind of response you get and let us know!

Why are the Republicans waiting? We know many of them represent states that really REALLY need this money. Is it the Tea Party thing? The new speaker of the House, what is it? Any ideas? How can they be fine with sitting on the fence?

I've been reading a lot of articles lately in the Huffington Post regarding the split in the GOP. The Tea Party wants bigger cuts than the Republicans do and Boehner is caught in the middle, afraid of hurting their party.

So, I can guess that no Republican will sign on to HR589 until the party sorts things out. Now is not the time to cut what the Tea Party wants to. Cuts down the road, some soon, some later, yes, but now? Do they think the economic situation is that good? I will read some of those articles in the H Post, thanks.

The republicans seem to think that if you cut spending your economy will grow. Even the most basic understanding of economics will show you that isn't true. They always like to compare the us to a business. Have you ever heard of a business spending less and having their business expand and grow? It doesn't work that way, you have to invest money to make money.

I agree with the above statement. But unless someone somewhere sits down and actually comes up with a way to fix Social Security and Medicare we are just p****** in the wind when you talk about really cutting the deficit.I mean any person with even an elementry understanding of economics does not want to se our debt equaling 100% of our gdp. Wait I got an idea lets call Michael Moore and have him simply go to congress and tell them our debt doesn't exist, its a made up lie........LMAO......Wow being unemployed has made me sinicle......Sad....

All you have to do is enter your location and zip code and it will bring you too your reps. It should also display their fax numbers in both the home district and Washington office should you choose to fax. I usually do both fax and email.

Re: 3/15/11 **Update on HR 589** 75 Co-Sponsors!!!
Every day I wake up and check my usual unemployment sites and blogs. And then I ask myself, how long is this going to continue to drag out. At the rate sponsors are being added to the bill; maybe next year?
Trying to stay optimistic, but as you all know, its hard.

We also have a Congress.org tool at the top of the page under the video of the day. Just type in your zipcode and all the information about contacting everyone from the President down to your local hometown assemblyman will appear for your area.
