Help Wanted (Except For You)
Seems that employers are getting very picky. Seems, employers are finding all kinds of excuses not to hire new workers:

Re: Help Wanted (Except For You)
Hey, at least in the poll, a significant number of people said that none of those reasons listed were legitimate causes for not hiring someone.

While I agree that there are some legitimate reasons, I think that potential employers need to start welcoming more unemployed workers.
The way I see it? Employers who hire unemployed Americans are getting a getter deal than hiring someone who's currently employed. Why? They are bound to prove themselves to their new employer by working harder, showing up on time and doing whatever it takes to keep that job.
They'll see a willingness to work extra hard, ask for more hours, extra shifts and even work through their lunch breaks if it means keeping their job. The unemployed know very well that jobs are scarce and that unemployment will remain high for at least a year and employers should realize this as well as the fact that many won't leave a job for another job that pays better because there will be hundreds of people applying for that job.
I just think that there are more advantages to hiring somebody who is unemployed because they will show a determination to keep that job. Not only that, but, they'll work extra hard to keep that job, as well.

And work unpaid hours, and work for less pay, and so on. But it has that wonderful effect on the people who are employed as well when they see what happens to us. Low unemployment bad, high unemployment good! Ain't unfettered capitalism grand?
