LinkedIn Question
I'm currently looking for a part-time weekend job with the search sites, but I'm not getting anywhere. When I look for advice, people talk about how having a LinkedIn page is a must. Can anyone can tell me if they've actually been contacted by a recruiter because of their LinkedIn page? Wondering if there is truth to this, or if it's being over-hyped.

Re: LinkedIn Question
I don't know about others, but I have gotten NOTHING from LinkedIn! I've been with LinkedIn for over 6 years now. At least it's free, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Me, either!!!
But I get a lot of "stuff" from friends WHO ARE WORKING...
(My older brother DID get a bite from it that led to a short-term contract with USPS.)

Re: LinkedIn Question
I have an acount, I have had a few 3 month contracts and i want to use the account to have some professional references..
i finished a contract in May of this year and "invited" a "boss" from the job....he just confirmed the invitation only what about 8 months later
thats abot how often he probably checks his account....
the rest of my contacts (most) are recruiters looking to fullfill their quotas from what i can determine
