Falling off the "Human Cliff" in December? Take Action....Start Here!

Ways and Means Committee Democrats, U.S. House of Representatives
Description
The Emergency Unemployment Compensation and Extended Benefits programs are set to expire at the end of the year. Congress must take action to extend this program or millions of unemployed workers will be cut off the program starting at the beginning of next year. We must not abandon jobless Americans as they desperately seek work in an economy that has over four unemployed workers for every available job.
Never in our nation’s history have we allowed a federally-funded emergency unemployment compensation program to expire when the unemployment rate was anywhere close to its current level of 9.1 percent.
According to the Economic Policy Institute, letting these programs expire would mean $45 billion less in assistance to unemployed workers, and $70 billion less in economic activity, a reduction in purchasing power that would lower GDP by 0.4 percent and mean roughly 528,000 fewer jobs.

Representative Levin, a long time advocate for the long term unemployed started this Facebook page for the Ways & Means Committee, where any unemployment extension bills must pass through. This page started about a year ago, there are only 1,280 members.

DIRI We know it has always been that way. As we were advocating for the original extensions, too many wouldn t get involved, and wanted to complain when they didn t happen fast enough.

Yeah but this is apathy at its worst. We need to do less grumbling and idle malarkey posting and get the house/senate buzz going like REAL quick.
Practically nothing is impossible.
